Well done to Aidan Toua to make the 22 from the Academy. If he stays healthy I'm confident that we will see him in the run-on side sometime this year - and hopefully at fullback.

I dont know what would be worse, being sponsored by a NSW entity or by a pommy entity(HSBC)

Well, I thought it was funny

why should Horwill convert back to lock? Why not him for Wallaby blindside?

Plenty of options at lock - Sharpe, Douglas, Van, Simmons. Not many at blindside.

"More than 12,300 memberships have been sold compared to around 5000 last year while 120 corporate boxes will be buzzing on Sunday compared to the 30 sold by the Reds at this time a year ago."

Great effort

Is Quirk an openside that is going to get near Pocock & Hodgson?

The Reds have picked a big pack, but is it going to able to support the width the Reds try to play with?

Because the Oz depth at tight head lock is worse than the depth at 6.

Sharpe and Simmons are LH locks. Sharpe has packed down on the right hand side but that is just a technicality - he is not a scrummaging TH lock that is any value to the THP or the scrum as a unit. Blind Freddie knows that Van won't be picked for a test match. Douglas has potential to be an international TH lock but if he makes the Wallabies it will most likely be after the RWC.

Horwill is the only proven test TH lock in the country. Hopefully Vickerman will make it back to make a 2nd.

That's why.

But .... the Red's coach should pick a side to benefit the Reds and not the Wallabies?

Absolutely.

I'm not surey they will play this one with a lot of width until the second half. I would expect them to play tight in the first half. Well I hope so because I see width playing into the hands of that Force back row. I hope to see a more methodical grinding down of the Force pack then unleash in the second half.

Queensland: Peter Hynes, Rod Davies, Will Chambers, Anthony Fainga'a, Digby Ioane, Quade Cooper, Will Genia; Leroy Houston, Ed Quirk, James Horwill, Rob Simmons, Van Humphries, James Slipper, Saia Fainga'a, Ben Daley. Res: James Hanson, Greg Holmes, Scott Higginbotham, Beau Robinson, Ben Lucas, Mike Harris, Aidan Toua.

The Force scrum is second rate so this front row won't be a problem. Next week however I predict Holmes and maybe even Hanson will start, Horwill will revert to 4 and Higgers and Robinson will he on. Next week the Reds will need muscle, lots of it!

They look the goods - probably only selections of Leroy and Quirk and Higgers not definites. Thought Robinson might have got the 7 spot over Quirk but maybe a bit of Queenslander loyalty has come to the fore and I have no problem with that.

Isn't Higgers a QLDer and Leory from down south?

I read that in todays paper, it got me thinking, how much is a corperate box? Would enough Reds fans from this forum who go to the games be able to chip in and get one for close to a membership price but get all the extras?

You have to buy the box for the season, but it doesn't include any catering. So you aren't getting all the extras. Usually they are quite a bit more.

10 seater around $10,500 and 8 seater around $8,500.
Just a bit more that Ruby membership at $750 per ticket

When did Beau Robinson get picked up? I saw his white hair on a Fox News item. I never rated him when he played for the Tahs, but he looked OK in a couple of Shute shield games I saw. What's the general view in Brusbane about him? Good pick up?

I was a big fan of his when he was at the Tahs. He is in the Reds Academy, alongside Ben Coridas and Dave McDuling and Aidan Toua. Word is he has played very well in the trials

He's built a bit like Braid. Hope he's as good. McDuling is a good choice to back up the second rowers.
