I would like to see a review on the scrums GAGRites. From the shots I saw PAE was hard done by against Slipper. Slipper appeared to be hinging to me with his elbow pointed to the ground and that shoulder consequently rolling in.

Also what are the views on Genia pushing Stirzacker at the back of the scrum. That should be a penalty surely for playing the man without the ball.

Scrum penalties were a lottery. Slipper much better at referee management that Higginbotham.

Agree on Genia - see post 254. With that ref though Stirzacker and Higginbotham needed to point it out to him and query the legality of it. I think after sending a player off so early, the ref used the penalties and Non-penalties as a bit of a square-up. When was the last time you heard of a free kick because the flanker played the ball in the tunnel? (Bearing in mind that every feed in the match went in at 45 degrees without 1 free kick)

Just trying to put the loss into perspective. I think considering the circumstances it wasn't a terrible result for the Reds.

Of course they did!

They played 60 minutes with 14, and were never truly out of it.

The Rebels are toothless.

I think the commentators are being a bit harsh on James O'Çonnor saying that he didn't really involve himself enough in the attack - it's damn hard when you're making a shit tonne of tackles and the reds hardly had the ball in the second half.

A lot of wingers would have looked terrible in that type of game, and James O'Connor looked pretty solid and reliable - I think that shows the quality player he is.

He wasn't really afforded the chance. Frisby should have gone to the wing and JOC (James O'Connor) to 10 being the more experienced player when Quade left the field.

The Rebels shouldn't be too pleased with the result. They didn't really do much with 70% possession. The Reds tight defence was very good but too much shuffling of the ball around with no real plan. I think it was an opportunity lost.

A lot of passes from both sides went well behind the man - shouldn't happen that often at this level.

Bulls next week, and i think the 92-3 score line is going to get smashed. Reds lost that game for the folks that have removed that game from there memory.

I made comment towards the end of last year on Horwill . Lots of posters flogged me for it. Now who are the mugs?

Bloke just doesn't give a fuck.

Teams cannot play and hope to win at this level playing with 14 men for 60 minutes.

Thought Gill and Slipper were huge

JOC (James O'Connor) not so good and Mr $700.000 fucking poor in the limited time he had.

Ref was not so good - although I agree with the red card - with a bit of luck Kev will get 10 weeks

The only good thing about that game was I was asleep and never saw it. Might be the same next weekend.

Really?? Look at the posts before, from my POV as a Wallabies supporter I thought PAE was hard done by and Slipper was hinging and rolling his shoulder in (elbow pointed to ground after binding).

Funny post - name of the game is getting away without getting sprung- otherwise if everybody played fair all the time we wouldn't need a referee

That is more a factor of the Ref having little idea of what was going on and him being out of his depth.

I do not like bagging out the officials too much because they are an integral part of the game, I much prefer looking at the management decisions that place a person in the position to fail when they obviously are not up to the required level. I hope this performance doesn't destroy his prospects moving forward.

Stood with my girls at the end and sang the club song. They had waited a long time to sing it.

Thought the Horwill brain lapse turned the game. Still it was a win, but it was a really scrappy game.

Are we allowed to make jokes about Hunt seeing the white line and being so fixated on it he passed to ball to it?

On a serious note: perversely, the only recently recruited player by RG that looks even vaguely like 'value for money' is L Turner. His low angle long kicks for touch have been invaluable, and he at least looks like he assesses his next play quite carefully and executes many well.

By any standard Thompson, JOC (James O'Connor) and Hunt thus far look at best like glossy marketing statements way in excess of the revealed underlying product quality.

Re the game: the overwhelming thought I had was that there is way more positive potential in many Rebels players than their coach is, in a team coaching sense, actually realising.

Oh, and this: all 3 Aus S15 teams at the bottom of the ladder are coached by coaches that have recently failed to succeed elsewhere. Yet they were all chosen for their current positions without evidence of sound, objective selection processes but were all announced in a fanfare of enthusiasm when chosen by their RUs.

I agree PAE will be ok and better in the future - it really is a shame he is going OS
