As someone noted it was JD's daft and poorly executed kick that led to the try.

I think it was brilliant captaincy, it's in the rules, he exploited it.

I also think Greg Chappel's underarm request was also brilliant, as it was within the rules.

The kick may not be in the same league, but the awareness involved in the decision making impresses me regardless.
I agree with you. It was well done. I was just disappointed that it had to be Pocock to pprovide the brains again. Ideally several players would have been ready to tell him.

It's a bit like Ardie Savea's try a few weeks ago. He knew the rule, the match situation and got a try whilst our guys are scratching their heads trying to figure out what happened. Australian rugby used to be known as smart rugby but (with few exceptions such as Pocock) we seem to have lost that.
