Well done mate, better than a kick in the balls!

I expect you'll be sending out invitations to the local GAGR crew for the corporate box...?
Corporate box was a couple of years ago, I just mean I get pretty lucky from the Rebels.

So I received a email this morning that I have won the signed jersey and bucket hat, I wish my luck with the lotto was as good as with the Rebels. This is my 2nd signed jersey, and I also won a corporate box for a match.
I have never won anything. You have won more prizes than the club has games……

So wonder which rebels going to turn up this week as did not recognise players like Tuttle or To'omua. Both had best games for some time. Actually best decent game seen from Tuttle.

nice publicity for the pathways
How good. That's how rugby stays alive, in the public schools. Also, looking at some of the debutants this year and recently, just quietly Victoria has a decent little pipeline going.

Naea talks at the end about wanting to become a teacher. For mine this is the real success of the program. As in time he will take his love for rugby back into the school system and inspire the next generation of kids to play the game

Quite funny that rebels producing good pathway of public school rugby players as opposed to private school rugby players which would be envy of other east coast states who have yet to work out how to crack the public school market. Repeatable formula perhaps - say western Sydney - but presume maybe(?) league sown this up?

Look I think it’s a bit harder in Sydney because you have to take on League in public school’s but I don’t think it’s impossible.

I think they should build on the program to be honest. La Trobe is a main sponsor of the Rebels. They have amazing facilities, even if the Uni starts it’s own Dewar shield side and offers scholarships to those who graduate from the rugby academies to continue their education and their time in athletic development academies.

Maybe some blokes end up developing to a point that they are good enough to go pro latter on but have a tertiary education behind them all ready. Maybe some of the blokes never go pro but end up with a tertiary education and playing club rugby in Melbourne. As long as it helps the boys and girls be the best they can be athletically or academically that’s all that matters really

Well both existed then as well, in fact Northern was started by some of the ex Latrobe people if i recall correctly, anyway a uni team based out at Latrobe would be good
It would be great to have another side. Unfortunately it would be a massive struggle to have the numbers for three clubs in the area

Edit: Did a quick search it looks like they field a rugby team at different university games but don’t have a week to week side playing in a club comp

Eltham are down to one senior side this year and have been really struggling with training numbers. They are bringing back a vets team though.

i made comment on the match thread, but i thought it interesting (and a bit worrying) that the Rebels brought on Worth when the red card 20 was up rather than move Too'mua to 12 and bring Gordon on at 10. perhaps they felt MT was going well at 10 and the experience of Worth was a bonus in a tight game, but i wonder if the young bloke is on the outer and way out or the coaches still dont have enough confidence in him or what. he looked very good for a rookie in the TT last year and i'll grant you that his starting performance in round 1 wasnt great, but he has been ok coming off the bench since then i feel. any inside goss ?
