Can you be my life coach? Please?Rebels, even with their advantage in players and money will never get a real foothold in Melbourne in the next few years.
Support is scarce except for a few diehards.

And go broke before that first final series begins.Perfectly happy to have the Rebels suck up every decent player in the country, win the conference, attend finals, have a crack at the title, and have a high representation at Wallaby level every year.
Not a supporter in the country who doesn’t want the same thing for their team.
And please don’t tell me the Rebels need to rationalise with the other 3 teams for the good of the code in this country, or that any Rebels success will be manufactured or based on the ashes of another team. I couldn’t care less.
And as for the salary cap, that’s an issue for the Rebels management and RA. They clearly know what’s going on, and have some kind of agreement in place, whether some like it or not.
Selfish? You bet. Win or lose, I am a Rebels supporter; I don’t recall that position implying I had to share my support with any other team, or hope they are successful in any way.
Comedy writing not your forte, then? And go broke before that first final series begins.
Go the Melbourne Mortgage Rebels!
The Storm seem to do alright and League is a lot less embedded in Melbourne than Union.Rebels, even with their advantage in players and money will never get a real foothold in Melbourne in the next few years.

The Storm do well in Melbourne because they are a winning team. We need to emulate that success. The Storm seem to do alright and League is a lot less embedded in Melbourne than Union.
I would have thought with your amazing grass roots programs and mega rugby depth across the whole state that really only plays Rugby (union and league) compared with, say Vic, you would be spoiled for choice in up and coming talent and bursting at the seams with organic growth and a fully detailed succession plan for players - and coaches - it's not like you guys are a johnnie come lately to rugby, so stand on your own two feet guys and show us the talent you keep saying you have. This is really directed to Reds supporters who read this forum, not Swingpass, who is obviously Victorian

Daz, I sincerely hope your comments about the ashes of another team are not shared by your new found coach and majority of senior players, otherwise you could be in for a whole lot of disappointment in 2018.
Thanks for insights, Nostradamus. I'm staggered to the point of speechlessness at calls from QLDers for Rebels to release talent so as to 'equalise' the spread across the four unions. You blokes are fucking *cooked*. Get stuffed. Sit back for a season, maybe two, and experience what WA and VIC fans have felt since day dot.
OK, maybe it wasn’t articulated the best (or delicately), but I get the point made. The “northern” states didn’t care that WA and VIC had slimmer pickings than they did in the past. Now the foot is in the other hand (Flying High reference, thank you!) there is wailing and gnashing of teeth from the north. True, there should have always been equilibrium amongst the teams. As that isn’t policy, it’s every team for themselves.Yeah, there's a whole lot of vitriol and "fuck you, I'm all right Jack" coming out of some rebels' fans nowadays.

What have Vic fans experienced in regards to this?
Scraping by with a team of largely consisting of journeymen with the odd rough gem and late-career pro thrown in, while watching the bulk of the representative players suit up for QLD and NSW, and to a lesser extent ACT.
Nor the coin that’s been lent or forgotten about. I think what pisses people of the most is the way things have rolled through for you guys.OK...I don't agree with the whining regarding the Rebels stockpiling of talent for 2018 (although I do believe that if players want a release it should be granted for the best of both parties), however I don't think you guys have any legitimate grounds to feel aggrieved by the other teams or RA when it comes to playing rosters.
Which reds supporters? you wouldn’t find a single one who actually believes or said what you just wrote..
You know I’ve been a supporter of the Force and Rebels for many years, adopting them as my second team and willing them to succeed. That doesn’t excuse them of criticism, as I do with my own team, if the management or coaching deserve it then I will offer my opinion. But I won’t ever broadly criticise another clubs supporters like this, it serves no purpose in forums.
not releasing a bloke or 2 (who want to be released) to play for another Aussie Franchise (yet will release said player/s to play in England).
I think it is a sign of success when people start to hate you. I for one hate the Pats.Thing is that the Rebels have heaps and heaps of players, some good, plenty pedestrian and some woeful.
The List is large.
Funny thing about rugby - you can only select 15 starters and 8 blokes on the pine.
There will be plenty of disappointed players down there and often that disappointment leads to some infighting and the erosion of culture (which may be lacking anyway).
The Rebels were always my number 2 team. Now with their greediness in not releasing a bloke or 2 (who want to be released) to play for another Aussie Franchise (yet will release said player/s to play in England) they have "lost" me and go to the bottom of the pile.
In fact I would barrack for any African, Japanese, Argentine or even NZ team over the Rebels.
