I think its a bit rich that TT declares that he "has the highest win percentage of any Head Coach in the Club’s short history" 7-15, which is not quite 50%, and seriously not something that is to .

this is BS - since he became coach the win ratio is 35%, 7&9 in 15, 7&8 in 16 0&5 in 17. he presumably was talking only about last year.

Is something afoot?

I got an email from Rebels YouTube account to "Melbourne Rebels Live Stream Test". I clicked on the link, just a desk and two empty chairs with a framed jersey on the wall in the background for about 10 seconds. The video was deleted a minute later.

Anyone know of any announcements?
anything further?

Probably just an inside joke as SARU are likely kicking against reducing teams. If SA does not reduce two then ARU will no chance in hell reduce one.

I think a restructure of the current 18 into 3 pools is most likely until the broadcasting agreements end then we may very well see a disbandment.

Or, as my guess is, it was just a streaming test to see how many tune in.

I think it was just a streaming test to see if the tech works - that's probably why it had test in the name.

The trouble with live steaming and social media is it's hard to test without actually doing a steam. They could've set up a dummy account though.

This could've been in preparation for an announcement, or it could've just been to get stuff prepped for potential future announcements (which happen a few times a year, it's only a matter of time). There's literally no way of knowing.

There is no way of knowing, true, but we can still speculate like crazy.

Cox is planning to kidnap the ARU board (thought saying Pulver may have been in poor taste). Will be streaming ransom demand videos from a cave in the vicinity of AAMI park which may or may not be an escape stair from the Domain tunnel?

Could be a test to start streaming the Dewar Shield games?

I think its a bit rich that TT declares that he "has the highest win percentage of any Head Coach in the Club’s short history" 7-15, which is not quite 50%, and seriously not something that is to be proud of IMO. Here's another stat: looking at the first five game point differential:
2011 -103
2012 -58
2013 -82
2014 -26
2015 -5
2016 -10
2017 -162
I accept that TT made some improvement in 2014,15 + 16, but as we do know, the Rebels seem to lose their momentum in the second half of the season, so watch out for a big fall from here.
And before you mention the draw, I'd like to remind you that we did defeat Crusaders at the start of 2015.

And we have not defeated a Kiwi team since 2015, they are the measuring block to see how the team is standing.

Absolutely defending his legacy. And what a legacy to defend!

How does that go at your next job interview?

"The team I inherited had a successful win/loss ratio in 2015 (relative to previous win/loss ratios because we still sucked and were <50%). I then oversaw a catastrophic slide in form and attention, culminating in a string of abject performances where in all but one we were never even close enough to sniff a chance.

"Hire me, I'm an uncompromising coach with a proven track record as a coach and can coach."

Finally, everyone is seeing my thoughts on TT ;)

From day 1 I was worried, his had his good moments but for every one step forward he has managed a way to take 3 backwards.

The Rebels are in the same place as when he took over, just with more caps up there sleeves.

What worries me is that they seem to be playing everything to a playbook. Maybe they should chuck that out for a few games and allow the players to play rugby. The game plan is predictable and by half time the oppo coach has it all sussed out. Really frustrating to watch.

this is a thought i've had too. the players seem reluctant/scared to go outside the game plan lest they incur TT's wrath. it was certainly evident in 2014 when he took over, he was caught on TV going ballistic after someone disobeyed the order to kick and had the temerity to run it in the "always kick" position on the field. after the resultant try he could be clearly seen down the phone saying, "dont ever do that again, if you do i'll drag you", although not quite as politely. it was against the brums i think, when they came from behind to win.

I can tell you for a fact this is 100% correct.

I recall that game (not just for the win). Jason Woodward kept kicking the ball back to the dismay of the crowd (there were boos). He seemed to take that on board and ran instead and subsequently ended up with a record points haul for a single game.
