Rebels awards

Mafi Best player (well d'uh !)
English Weary Dunlop award
Sa'aga Rookie
Koroibete Best try (v Cru Rd 14)

and The afternoon function was an opportunity to recognise and farewell departing players, including Mitch Inman (Oyonnax, France), Ben Meehan (London Irish, UK), Jonah Placid (Toulon, France) and head coach Tony McGahan

Interesting - no Zebra. Obviously Tony and Sean aren't announced. Maybe Zebra is doing Japan in addition to Super Rugby. Wouldn't mind seeing him and Stirzaker under a different coach.

I assume there is a few yen floating around the second division.

Any thoughts on whether he would do Super Rugby as well?

Surely if Australian rugby is in serious financial problems and can't retain as many players as they would like to, then it would make sense to allow a significant number of the second tier Australian players to play in both leagues. Maybe 1 out of 2 years or something.

Swing,

You may be pleasantly surprised in the near future. Can't say anything more ATM

Yes, you can, you just can't. But, you can tell us, we can keep a secret.

Or, we can just ask you random questions.
  • Is he heading north?
  • Is he heading OS, as he alluded to in this re-signing press release?
  • Is he giving up Rugby to take a role in the legal lindustry?

Is he going to develop into the player lots of us hoped he was going to a few years ago?

Or does Scrubber know that Genia has been told he's not getting a spot at the Reds, and will hence be coming to Melbourne and we won't see Stirzaker start much.

Or does he know that we're going and we won't have to see him in red.

Or has somebody fucked up entirely and we've negotiated a swap for Rhys Webb

Who knows

Some very good scenarios playing out on this one.:) Think I like the Genia one the best.

not for me, imo he would just be another culture catastrophe. After the schemozzle of coming to Perth and watching him since, not the bloke to build a team around as he won't be there long enough. And price in $'s too would be a stupid amount for him.
