The problem with the hooped design is it directly conflicts with the Stormers home strip. The only way you could potentially go with the hoops would be to make it the Rebels home strip also, which is unlikely at this point.

I still see the same potential problems with the front three in 2013, i.e. I can't recall them ever dominating an opposition and more often than not they struggled to hold par.
And no offence to the bloke, but Robinson needs to lift his game in 2013. We really have issues with our (lack of) hooking strengths. In fact, if I could describe the Rebels game in 2012, it was the fact we so often wasted the good kicking work by Gerrard by turning over the pill at the attacking line-out.
It started out as a massive frustration to the crowd and by mid-season it was just accepted that the line-out would be lost. Not good enough.
Mama Cass and Bon Scott had a mild tickle in the throat compared to our hookers at throw-in time.
And my personal view is that Beale should be 10, every game, forever and ever, amen. JOC (James O'Connor) at 12.
And I may be on my pat malone here, but I actually like the Rebels kit; home and away.
No idea what the fuck JOC (James O'Connor) is trying to do with the head style, though. If I was his hair, I'd be ripping myself out at the roots and wafting away as fast as the wind could carry me.

and i agree with daz, the number of times the rebels turned over attacking lineout ball was unbelieveable and for professionals unforgiveable. probably the number one core skill of a hooker to throw straight

I think the rebels squad is still too weak to be a real threat in 2013.
I expect they to be more consistent and pull of the odd big win, but I doubt they will still be around when the whips are cracking.
Also expect them to unearth a few good young players as they have done so far with pyle, neville and jones.
They really needed to bring in a couple more quality players this season, at hooker especially but also in the outside backs as well as a reserve flyhalf. I was saying months ago that Sam Lane would be the perfect signing but alas it didnt happen.
For next season the Fainga'a brothers - Ant, Saia and Colby, might be worth a package deal as they would plug a fair few gaps in the rebels squad and are great assets to the rugby community.

Only would want one Fainga'a, you can keep Anthony. Mitch Inman is younger bigger and has a great defense, will be more incline for a Wallabies jersey at outside center than Fainga'a by the end of the year. I like the depth in most positions, 2 and 7 are the problems with cover in my opinion.
Can't see him getting to much time at 9 so this might be his only option, although he has been put on the wing and can be a danger there with his speed and passing skills.

I like Inman because of his physical attributes but he is miles away from making the Wallabies
Inman is 24 already. He's older than some of the players ahead of him that people keep mentioning that he will soon be better than given a bit more experience.
He might have the physical attributes but there is a real possibility he just won't be that good a rugby player.
Some people seem to be talked about as having a huge amount of potential for a lot of their career and then eventually people realise that they were as good as they were going to get.

Also in regards to some of those guys who are bigger and develop at a younger age, they are often selected in school boys and age group rep sides based on their physical dominance on the playing field.. This reputation may carry over and earn them a contract at Super Rugby level but that's generally where they are caught out..
I remember watching Lloyd Johannson play for the GC Breakers thinking he was something special, remarkably he also earned a test cap but he is another example of physicality inflating his reputation... Ezra Taylor often won King of the Gym at the Reds.. Nemani Nedalo was the next Jonah Lomu.. We could go on..
I assumed Nick Cummins was another in this category but he has a nose for the try line and is a quality finisher, Inman could take a page out of his book.

I agree with the possibilities around whether Inman is going to go on, or if he has just hit the ceiling in regards ability.
Personally, I'm not overly concerned with the fact he is 24 and still developing. The reality is that he has only had 3 (I think) full seasons of S15 and he spent most of his early time at the Force injured, and his early time at the Rebels vastly under-utilised due to a lack of attacking football, simply because the team was ordinary. I think the bloke is going to go on and become a very good 13. I also think he is going to get a Wallaby jersey at some point.
That said, he needs to really step up this year. He has shown he is a good physical defender and doesn't mind the crash and bash contact going forward (which I fucking love about his game). But to be an international 13 he needs to develop the ability to become a game-breaker, in the mold of his mentor Stirling Mortlock.
Tries, Mitch. You need to smash the line and get the pill down for a meat-pie occasionally.

I believe Inman is good enough, but will struggle to get his chance as he is the same position as AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) who is the most consistent Wallabies and is only 28 years old. Than Cummins is only 25 and can also play 13, but I would rate Inman at 3rd choice for 13. I wish he could play on the wing on inside center as well to increase his chances of being all round cover to get a call up.
Inman has shown nothing better than Fainga'a (slightly older) or Horne (slightly younger). I think Inman is still well down the pecking order to play 13 for the Wallabies.

Agree that they are all very similar standards, I don't think Fainga's go forward ball is strong enough against some of the powerhouse centers in Rugby today. Defensively he is good but just not able to break the line often enough.
Will say (Personal opinion) Horne would be lucky to get a game for the Tahs if they have a fully fit back line, let alone another shot at the Wallabies.
I'd love Inman to have a breakout year. A full Super season in the 13 for the Rebels would be great. He's a really good size and if he can work on his running lines he will be hard to stop and could potentially become the go to man for JOC (James O'Connor) and Beale and get the Rebels over the advantage line.
Beale has undoubtably played his best senior Rugby at 15. His best attributes are his open field running and he is also more comfortable making covering tackles then head on. JOC (James O'Connor) best position is on the wing.
Unfortunately without alot of player depth at the rebels in key positions I can understand the reshuffle from these positions. Cipriani was suppose to fill the void but was a epic fail. Personally Id play KB (Kurtley Beale) at 15, Oconnor at 12 and take a punt on Angus Roberts at 10. KB (Kurtley Beale) can show up and slot into 10 to take pressure of him throughout the game in attack which he does a bit from 15 anyways.
