Based of their current skillsets and play styles Lopeti and Higgers couldn't start in the same pack.

That being said, Lopeti's a pretty good player and is still developing things like workrate and ball security.

I really don't understand how the older Valetini (Kemu I think it is) can perform well in Super Rugby trial games, Rebel Rising games, and yet not get into the Oz u20 squad.

The Rebs must have little to no pull in that squad, WA can get there best in and we simply can't.

Waratahs set to unveil a new forward signing - i am increasingly convinced this is going to be luke jones.

Hopefully for the Tahs sake! He would be a super replacement for Timani and then the Tahs would have a strong loosehead/tighthead combination with him and Douglas.

Maybe the lure of playing with his old schoolmate Michael Hooper is bringing him home to Sydney?

no idea. all speculation on my point, but i note we are rich in back row players for next year with at lease 3 players who can play 6. if we keep jones, someone is going to lose game time and realistically jones will likely be a 2nd row.
Higgers
Saffy
Fainga
Timani
Reid
Fuglister

Him and Hooper are good mates, I'm sure that's a factor. I said as soon as Hooper came home it wouldn't be long before Jones did as well.

Pure speculation: Digby's exit would open up a significant amount of funds to secure a JOC (James O'Connor)-type player.

There've been persistent whispers about him leaving Melbourne and the Reds look like a good fit for him.

O'Connor won't want to play for the Reds as the chance of him playing close to the ball won't be their.

He has already stated he see's no reason to leave Melbourne.

I'm surprised if the rebels let Luke go. He's got rare versatility in playing 4 or 6 and I thought he's been performing well this year. Perhaps the Rebels want him to play more at 4/5 and he might seem himself more of the side of the scrum?

From a Rebels perspective I am going to be seriously fucking unhappy if we lose Jones. However, I think his career will really take off playing under Cheika. He's basically a good version of Dennis so can absolutely see why the Tahs would want him.

we need to lose one back rower. we currently have 3 6's and 3 7's
though maybe timani is coming in as purely number 8 cover in which case we have
8 - higgers/timani
6 - jones/saffy
7 - fainga/fug/reid

timani can cover 6 as well and jones can also cover the lock stocks.

might just mean 4-8 of
pyle
neville
jones
fainga
higgers

with subs of
saffy (can cover 7 as well as 6)
Timani (can cover 6 and 8)

with jones as our lock sub.

we get one injury and reid and rug come into the frame. out of saffy and higgers, there will definitely be injuries.

Losing Jones would be big, I have no clue why we are playing him off the bench. Hell, I'd even play him from 7 if that's what I had to do to get him in the starting XV.

Maybe they're starting with Neville because he's actually sticking around? I mean it's all speculation but it's possible.

On the plus side, Neville's last 2 rounds have been very good especially compared to his early season form.

Are we losing Delve?

PAE has re-signed till end of 2015

enforcer delve is off contract and likely to go as the rebels are down to 2 foreign players only next year like everyone else

agree neville's last two games his best this year

i suspect, if the recontracting hasn't been announced by now, then jones is likely to go unfortunately

crowden stirring again, JOC (James O'Connor) to ?sydney or canberra, i would think the reds more likely if anywhere other than melbourne

Urghhh. Can't be bothered reading the previous posts. Makes me want to bag my head against desk.

The Growden rumour file mentions Nucifora for the job next season. F**k that, I'm out.

Laurie Fisher, should be top of the list.

Laurie Fisher is now officially off that list.........

If we lose JOC (James O'Connor), Beale, and Delve I wouldn't mind a season of backing some lesser known players. The Brumbies and the Reds both built successful seasons off first having a mid table year of backing lesser known blokes.

We'd have to find a new 10 though. I wouldn't have a whole lot of faith in Roberts as a starting 10 next year, but he could come good. I've been wrong before.

Get in Christy from the Force (plus a least one other bloke)? He's not half bad and he's got no future there sitting behind a local prodigy, and 2 pretty decent experienced journeymen.

Plus, if we back lesser knowns we can fill our coffers.

I was questionable of him as captain but he's been good there.

He plays hard, drives team standards, and says the right things to the media. Plus, he's playing with us for at least another two years.

I'd book him in the captaincy role for as long as he wants it.
Think we all did
