RANT of the WEEK

Fellas,

We've got an idea for the podcast which is to have a slot where a "guest star" from the blog or forum dials in and unloads on a particular and specific rugby issue, e.g.'s
  • A particular law:mad:
  • a style of play or tactic :mad:
  • a selection decision :mad:
  • an organisational or policy decision :mad:
  • someone's behaviour :mad:

The guys on the call/podcast will then (whether they agree with it or not) give your theory a bit of a gentle prod and a poke to check it out. We're your mates, not there to make a fool of you, or have a massive ruck.

You'll be FAMOUS (well, within G&GR anyway) and doing the site a service!

So who's up for it? First slot would be tonight 8.30 Sydney time. Just drop me and Rugbyreg a PM. All you need is a phoneline, or preferably Skype

Ranting probably covers most of us at least some of the time.

Much though I would love to rant to a wider audience, the 'rant slot' is sadly not convenient to me.

Love this idea. Just need to do this straight after the test at three in the morning when I can't sleep due to the frustration.

Haha this sounds like great fun. I would be interested in listening to anyone from this forum or maybe having a go myself. Do you have to figure what your rant is going to be before hand or can it be more spontaneous. Or maybe you guys ask the caller a topical question and he can just go from there? Time limit?

Great idea though - let's not forget about those of us on the forum :)

I think the idea is if we spot a good rant from the forum, we'd like to offer that person a chance to do it on the podcast. We'd then chat about the subject and see if it holds water.

Alternatively, if someone just needs something off their chest, that they haven't written about it, let us know for tonight's episode.

Only needs to be a minute or two, to allow us a few more minutes to question it and test your veracity!

Haha I see. Well if i think of anything I'll give you a buzz. I'd love to hear Cyclopath rant - about anything - he is a very very angry child :p

I reckon you'll find your best rants the morning after this weekends test against the Frogs.

Most of the truth is spoken when a couple of sheets to the wind. and I hold my liquor reasonably well, thanks. Though I tend to go on and on.

howabout on how our scrums are shit because all the junior nurseries allow seasons on end to go through with non competitive scrums, and also how all goals should be dropped to 2 points for a more permanent running game to be introduced...

...now all i need to work on is being there on the night, getting skype, being man enough to let people hear me, not getting carried away and not coming across as the peculiar person i am....
