Don't mean to be rude but every time I log on I see you ranting about 'mungo' ball. Any true sportsman should be able to appreciate any sport.

Guaranteed you played for the 5th's XV at school (parting jab to celebrate my 100th post)

4ths actually in a school with 4 teams, that doesnt discount my passion for sports. And no, I don't have to appreciate stupid sports.

Agree with your statement re true sportsmen but not everybody who loves rugby has to be an A/1sts player - 5th's at some schools that have 12 open teams can be reasonable players - obviously never destined for greater things - although a 3rds prop recently went onto TNS 1st grade as a winger.

I'd say someone showing up to play anything lower than 2nds does it for the love of the game.

I made my first class debut for my clubs 1st XV on the weekend in front of a couple hundred people (a little nervous as i was the only U23 in the team), I then played in the fourths and fifths fixtures for fun and the guys that were playing were all in their late thirties and forties was good fun but they cant run or tackle to save their lives.

Definitely play for the love of the game if you cant run with the footy

Best thing about not being in the 1st or 2nd XV: getting two or three games every Saturday. Much more fun than one tough game.

Probably right but I can think of one thirds player who went onto play for Australia - difficult to predict who will grow and develop when you have 180 17/18yr olds in an opens age bracket - many get lost and it becomes a bit of a case of "many are called but few are chosen" - or if you live in Invergargill "many are cold but few are frozen".

Thats the worst joke i've heard in a while. I will be using it from now on :)

Alright hot shot, not all of us are looking to be pro players

Haha. I played for the 1st XV in year 10. Played for Stade Francais U/19's And for the mighty Dubai Exiles shortly thereafter. Could have been an international... with the Arabian Gulf (haha) but chose chasing chicks and being cool. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Looking back none of it means shit unless you have fun, innit!

Was looking to be a Pro. Stop playing 6 years ago now. Heard about it everyday from my old man as I had been given first shot at a senior playing position. Not many 19 year old Props get the opportunity, but I chose to walk away as playing the game became more of a chore than fun.

There is too much hate in the world at the moment, can't we all just get along?

I must have been mistaken. I thought the Super Rugby season had started.....

Don't blame us Barbarian; the tribal warfare has begun and we are mere pawns; powerless to control our baser instincts. Unless my missus tells me to stop swearing at the telly. In that case, my fear of her overcomes my emotion of the contest.

I was in that predicament until I caught her yelling at Doctor McDreamy in Grey's Anatomy.
