i believe each school nominated a certain number of players

Agree with crows1 before blaming selectors best you check whether those players were nominated by their school/club
understandably left out, hasn't been as good as previous years. however there are some interesting selections, alistair harper?
You got to drop any personal stuff - he is a good player rising up to the occasion at opens level, and at club level, i can confirm Harper is quite talented in the pack.
Media Release: Queensland U16s announce train-on squad
Queensland Under 16s have announced a preliminary train-on squad of 103 players who will vie for selection in the two Queensland teams to compete at the 2011 National U16 Championships, to be held at St Ignatius Riverview in Sydney from September 25-30.
The National Championships are an important development pathway for Queensland’s best young talent and one of the first stepping stones for players wanting to play Rugby at an elite level.
The U16 program helps players develop their on-field abilities by testing themselves against the best players in Australia; but also aims to give all participants a better understanding and education of the off-field demands and challenges the modern professional game presents.
The Queensland selection process for the National Championships begins with the first of a series of trials this Saturday at Ballymore.
Selected players should email Queensland Rugby State Development Manager Rob Donaghue of their availability prior to Friday, August 5 on robert.donaghue@qru.com.au.
A trial and training schedule, along with a player information sheet, will be sent to the respective players’ schools this week.
Players participating in this week's first trial are to assemble at Ballymore at 8:00am on Saturday, August 6.

ENDS
Mellor is unfit and only played firsts due to a terrible team.
A few suprises..
- Nudgee having twice as many as any other school (not really suprising but then again I fancy ACGS and maybe TSS for the premiership in 2012)
- Lack of BGS players and an over representation from TGS and BBC
I agree. However, the BBC U16A team did have a good season. Michael Gilbert and Lakehm Aiono are not on this list simply because of injury. So that might explain the lack of BGS players.
