Yep, not since Larkham has rugby had someone with passing skills that good and Quade's kicking skills are better. The perfectly placed backhanded 15m pass at full speed for Hynes' try was amazing.

Just wish he could tackle like Larkham. Surely Deans can sort that out. If he could just get his defense up to the point where it's not a liability he could easily be an all-time great.

Yeah I agree Noddy. From the TV last night you could really hear the crowd going off in the background. It has me thinking of saving for some cheap airfares and doing some hit and run missions and getting down to see some home games.

it will be interesting to see how the renewed interest in rugby in QLD is reflected at Wallaby test matches as well...

Not quite the thread to be talking about this, but all this 'feel good' mood about the Reds and rugby in QLD is going to do wonders for the QRU since they are negotiating a new major sponsor and several other sponsors as well.

Well if you have more than a hand full of Reds players playing, Brisbane people will definitely want to see their boys do the green and gold proud. Even in other cities where they haven't been able to see the Reds play live. Let's face it, the Reds in the Wallabies will be the most exciting players in the team, who wouldn't want to see them.

Did one of your 'hit and run missions' last night Ruggo. Loved it, my first Reds win (damn Tahs game) great crowd support and all the rest!!! Loved every minute, well except maybe a few during the second half when I really did start to think I was cursed!!! Thanks for a wonderful season boys - always RED

We went off alright! We had a fantastic night.

And to get 26700 bums on seats for a dead rubber at the same time as the Lions were playing at the Gabba and the night after a Titans - Broncos game was a great effort. Well done Reds. Well done the QRU. Well done SE Qld.

Great stuff George. I went to Canberra to see us lose both locks in the first 25, have a shocker and get spanked. All while freezing my arse off. Who ever would of thought an NT drivers licence would be so handy to scrape frost off of your windscreen. :lmao:

Have to agree, those 2 will be good appetizers, when they are replaced in the 2nd half by S Fainga and Hynes the crowd will really go off with the main course

A few posts back someone mentioned that Beale was the slowest player in Aus, if you are being sarcastic then fair enough but kurtley was a schoolboy track star and is one of the fastest backs in australia.

Just a snippet from a paper interview when he was 16.

"His sporting talents are not restricted to the rugby field.

He also represented St Joseph’s at the GPS track and field meet in September, winning the under-15 100 metres sprint and the under-16 100 metres hurdles and anchoring the college’s 4 x 100 metres relay team .

He won the hurdle event in 13.7 seconds and the 100 metres sprint in 11.6 seconds and ran the final leg of the relay, in which Joeys clocked 44.93 seconds.

Kurtley says he loves athletics, “but I still prefer rugby”."

That was some time ago, though. In context it's not very relevant.

It was Reddy!, and I wouldn't always take him too seriously.
Kurtley is quick enough.

11.6 for the 100 really isn't that quick. It's decent, but it's a long way from express pace.

It aint bad for 15/16 years old. He's not Rod Davies fast, but he seems to be outpacing plenty of defenders lately. He is hardly a slug.

Beale is average speed. Not fast not slow. Now back to cooper! His passing is superb, and in my eyes he should definitley be first choice flyhalf for the wallabies. However im worried how cooper will perform under pressure.

His defence is also a bit of a worry but I have seen him make a dominate tackle so he is more then capable. Whenever he actually goes low he pulls off a good tackle but for some reason he just has a bad habit of going high all the time. So in my opinion its a problem that can be fixed as its not like he has no tackling ability at all, he just has a bad habit. I wouldnt say his reading of defence is bad either.

Im keen to see cooper perform under more pressure, he pulled off some freakish plays last night but it was a pointless game, Berrick has performed pretty well in the last 2 games which have basically been do-or-die for the tahs. Gits probably out performed cooper when the red played the brumbies in a do-or-die game for the brumbies. Lets hope cooper doesnt crack under the pressure of the wallabies.

Serb, i would say that the games against the Bulls and Stormers definetly had Cooper under pressure...

On the UK Skysports coverage yesterday, the other Noddy Lynagh said he thought the full strength Wallabies would be Barnes at 10 and Gits at 12, with QC (Quade Cooper) on the bench. He's a smart man.

As for the rubbish about Beale's pace; he seems fast enough to score and create tries. His defence is also firming - was the last line against Nonu on Friday and took mr mascara down (...to china town).

Was yet again impressed at just how deceptive Hynes' pace was in the reds game
