The kiwis on other boards are starting to talk about how we stole him from them in the first place, so he must be doing well.

Yeah right - State High gives scholarship to NZ national to come here.
In that case I was stolen as well when dad emigrated here from NZ in 1928.

Churchie boy actually, but I understand the sentiment RW. He had actually already emigrated, as I understand, and then was spotted at a tournament.

Cooper was great, and reinforces my view that he would be my preferred pick over Beale (for example) IF I had to choose one or the other. Cooper at 10, Barnes at 12 might be a handy combo. Giteau could cover both from the bench...
Of course, it would be great if Beale rose to the occasion, as did Barnes, and we had some real options. Here's hoping.

If cooper's form keeps up and his goal line defense improves (2 tries in two weeks from that same sort of attempted tackle) I'd probably like to see him at 10 with Gits at 12. I really like Barnes but he doesn't have that x factor really. That being said, any combo of these three with 10/12 and a well-used bench spot will be pretty good I think.

I'm amazed at how bad Barnes has got since leaving the Reds! Anywho with BBQ, A Finger and Turnstile it's pretty much a case of Berrick Who.

he also scored two tries this week. Threw the last pass for Braid's try last week and played a dominant hand in Horwill's last week.

Flyhalves have been missing tackles since Adam wore 10 in the Eden XV v the Rest of the World.

Noddy, I think you are trying to defend the indefensible. His good points clearly outweight his bad points at S14 level, but he won't get away with that at Test level, nor will he be picked as a starter if he does that too often.

I think Barnes is an ideal bench player, he could cover 10,12 and 15 quite well. If I had to start Barnes I would put him at 15

Too slow and not penetrative enough as a runner.

The performance gap on the park between Quade and Beale / Barnes opens up even more.

I have to say I didn't like Quade very much until the last few games I've seen him play. I know others have said it and that it is a bit silly, but god getting rid of the ridiculous bogan hair makes him seem a better player.
