Sorry, but this just highlights how wrong QC (Quade Cooper) was and especially highlights the way he went about sniping his coach and employers.

He needs to be banished for a while. He should not be given a hug and a Gold jersey anytime soon; to do so would send a terrible message to the Wallaby players.

Like starting a player who is undergoing a police investigation for alleged assault when drunk??

RD and the ARU have already set the standard on such issues..

Agree with you that Beale probably should be stood down pending the outcome, but since it has dragged on for most of this year and he is technically innocent at this moment in time, it is not really apples for apples.

QC (Quade Cooper) actually really did say something along the lines of "change things to suit me or get fucked" (the words are mine, but the intent is QC (Quade Cooper)'s) to his employer and employer staff. That is not a guilty/not guilty incident.

EDIT: Wording changed due to being correctly called on them :)

Yes they have set the standard, apparently if you steal things and go through the mediation process(as KB (Kurtley Beale) is ) then they will start you.
Apparently you don't even have to tackle if you don't feel like it.

I wonder what the reaction to QC (Quade Cooper)'s musings would have been if it had been made by say, Horwill or Genia or Poey.

I know the reaction will be "they wouldn't do it". But just suppose it was Big Kev on the Rugby club instead of QC (Quade Cooper) and he made the same comments, would we have viewed the intention differently?

E.G. would we have assumed that he meant that the style of play should be changed to suit Kevvie, or would we veiw it as "it should be changed to suit the Wobs style" . . .

What if it was Will Genia that said that the atmosphere was toxic? What with JON, RD being reappointed unjustifiably, the strange selections, the massive underacheivement of the national team, the constant injuries etc., I think we may have agreed with him.

If it was David Pocock describing unhappiness with the current setup, would have have thought "is that why he and WG and QC (Quade Cooper) et al haven't signed the ARU contract"?

I truly wonder what our reaction would have been.

I would be dusting my boots off and heading down to Wallaby training ;)

Why would you do that? What if he is found innocent, you just stood down someone for doing nothing wrong.
I dont really want to reignite this issue as I've said my piece previously...

But starting a player who has just been charged for such an offense sends the wrong message to all the player...At the very least he should have been NOT considered for selection due to bringing the game into disrepute(which he was guilty of).

The root of the issue is, Deans and the ARU have undermined their ability to punish and discipline players due to the leniency shown in the past.

There is a reason sarcasm is looked down upon....

jeez some people are quick to throw a few snide remarks about without actually knowing anything about what happened..

Seriously though, he has been charged but he hasnt been found guilty, which indicates so far that there is enough evidence to persue the case, but he isnt yet guilty.

For all we know it could have been some stupid gag or misunderstanding, until his found guilty i think some people should keep there shirts on and stop jumping to conclusions on something they know nothing about.
Not surprisingly, this was your opinion when QC (Quade Cooper) was caught stealing.
You have got more conservative over the past few years!

I think it was more: "change things so we start winning games or get fucked".

I want to see how beale plays outside genia, could really set his game off.

I'm sure you would have also read that within the context of the thread that that post was in reply to suggestions his contract should be torn up and Quade kicked out of the game..

I've never suggested Beale should be kicked out of the game, i said he shouldn't have been considered for selection for a match to set an example to other players.. I also supported the same punishment for Quade following that incident...

So what's your point?

Read your original post again, you were adament that being charged of a crime was proof of nothing. And that no action was appropriate until any charge was proved.
Why is there a difference in how you believe KB (Kurtley Beale) should be treated, and how you believed QC (Quade Cooper) should have been treated.

Guys, we are getting off track here. When we start doing the "he said, she said" routine, that should be a sign that the thread is going nowhere.

Let's move on.

Why are rugby players held to higher standards than the general public? Would Beale be stood down from his job if he was a truck driver? No.

Society's desire to force sports stars into being role models is shit. Parents should be their childrens role models.

To be honest, nothing would be better than having both KB (Kurtley Beale) and Cooper wanting to be the Wallaby 10 and trying to outdo the other in getting there. I've seen enough from KB (Kurtley Beale) of late to suggest he could really step up; his kicking in general play is generally better I think. Cooper showed more desire to tackle this year and probably has the edge on organising his backs and a slightly better pass. If a player won't accept being part of the team and sitting on the bench when asked to, then we'll not see the best of them.
I hope Cooper stays, but perhaps slightly adjusts his attitude. He is a valuable asset to Qld and Oz.

Beales kicking was looking the goods but he was pretty poor vs the ABs. Kicked short when he should have kicked long and when he kicked long often didnt find space. There were a few times where there was only the fullback deep in the second half when he should have been kicking long for territory but held onto it instead.

because part of the players wages come from sponsorship

if a player is lowering the return to the sponsor through his off field actions, it needs to be fixed

No that not what the initial post suggested at all...as I said, my comments were in reply to those who believed he should have had his contract torn up..

You are digressing and debating a topic years old, the topic at hand is that the ARU and RD have already set a low standard for disciplining players over the years and as recently as 2 months ago, to now change that drastically would be to admit they were wrong and a subsequent knee jerk reaction.
