Hopefully the ARU announces that one of the Waratahs has specifcally received the contract made available by QC (Quade Cooper) in order to stop the waratahs from (allegedly) resorting to illegal means to pay their current players.

Fixed this for you. :)

You can see what the ARU have done here... ste it up so Quade Cooper won't play under Robbie Deans again... With Quades injuries time well into next year, he just wont be able to make the squad in time to play the Lions... the ARU have just defused the Quade/Deans factor.... Robbie willl likely move on after the Lions mid year 2013....

Phew: I thought my earlier prediction that this would turn into a conspiracy of everyone against the Reds was going to be wrong.

1: I think you're reading too much into Scotty's post.

and 2: One post by a Reds supporter which tenuously points to your prediction does not equal a full blown conspiracy theory perpetuated by Queensland Rugby fans.

Ergo, your prediction is still wrong. ;)

i thougt he was out for 6 weeks.

Probably from when he had the surgery, which was around 6 weeks ago. I remember hearing that he might have been close to ready for the current tour.
Not that he would have gone on it, even if fit with all this other crap going on.

It is petty bullshit and will rob Australian rugby of a potentially great player.
I realise QC (Quade Cooper) has his issues but he also has a passing game and excitement factor that the ARU could only wish for........now. They had both in the palm of their grubby little hand when he conceded to their ridiculous fine after his outburst.

and for Deans? Really? We absolutely do need a clean-out from top to bottom in Australian rugby

I think we're forgetting QC (Quade Cooper) will make PLENTY of money if he plays most tests. If he's as good as some people think he is he will play most tests. Let's hope he is that good because more good players is always good.

If he isn't good enough to play most tests his brand will suffer, he already isn't as talked about as he was last 2011. With another year like 2012 he'll have even less brand recognition (or should I phrase that 'positive' brand recognition).

This is why it's stupid to pay a big name player based on his name, because when he stops performing his name begins to mean little. Case and point: Tuqiri was everyone under 10's favourite player just 4 years ago.

Quade signed a 1 year contract prior to RWC, since he signed this contract his performance at Test level has varied from adequate to poor. Why should he be the only player in the squad where form is not a consideration?
Forget all the other bullshit that surrounds him, look at the player ratings for the Tests he played for the duration of his last contract. He was not playing well, blame it on the coach if you like. But the bottom line is that at test level based on the last 12 months QC (Quade Cooper) is lucky to have been selected as often as he was.

Following that argument there is no way that Nick Phipps deserves a contract either. His wallaby form has varied between poor and embarrassing.

The fact that the bloke continues to not only be picked to start each game but play 80 minutes is a reflection of how poorly the team and selection process is managed.

^^^ Post 1772.

Whether QC (Quade Cooper) gets game time in future tests will be largely dependent on Dingo Deans, who according to many posters has a long memory and a vindictive mean streak, and recent events haven't exactly endeared QC (Quade Cooper) to Dingo.

If Dingo stays in charge of team Wobboley, QC (Quade Cooper) may have to get the trains running on time in Sydney, and restore healthy flows to the Murray Darling System AND the Snowy River without impacting on storage levels in The Snowy Hydro Scheme, Cubby Station and the Menindee Lakes, as well as reconciling if he will ever deem a yellow jumper bearable to don again before he is selected in the run-on Test squad. We all know if he is selected on the bench that he will most likely get Buckleys time on field.

If Dingo goes, then QC (Quade Cooper) may get his hands on some decent match payments and winners bonuses, if his form improves.

^^^ How about if I remove getting QC (Quade Cooper) to solve the Inland Waters challenge and replace it with successfully designing the 2013 Australia's America's Cup winning AC72 catamaran?

Bottom line, if Dingo stays at the Helm of SS Wallaby, then QC (Quade Cooper) will need to complete the modern Tasks of Hercules before he is given any inside running from him. Either that or 3/4 of the team does a Bradbury and leaves Dingo with no other choice.

And you guys are happy with that level of vindictiveness from the coach?

Also happy that Deans was not reprimanded for refusing to address the players after the test at Eden Park?

And you guys are happy with that level of vindictiveness from the coach?

What vindictiveness?

Aside from Matt Giteau falling out of favour with the Wallabies and there being much talk about how he was a disruption when not in the starting side, I can't really think of any clear examples where Deans can be accused of being vindictive.

For some reason I just can't see him leaving the reds.

The wallabies depth at flyhalf is starting to look very shaky considering Beale is up on Assault charges and Lilo is coming back from major injury and is unproven at test level.

I dont think either party is this dispute have done themselves any favours. The ARU look like amateurs and Cooper a bit of a fool.

I'm torn. It is nice to see the ARU man up and finally deliver a genuine punishment to one of the Britney Brigade, but on the surface it appears quite harsh and was akin to killing a fly with a sledgehammer.

In the end, QC (Quade Cooper) is an excitement machine and is an asset to the game of Rugby in Australia. I would have thought a contract to the value of 65% of his last contract would have made the point and allowed Quade to save a bit of face.
