Quade telling it how it is

Quade's flashy shit doesn't work when it counts anyway. He's got what it takes to be part of sides that can defeat the boks (about half the time) and everyone below them (almost all of the time) but so have all the other solutions we've had at 10 since Larkham retired.

The guy shits the bed against the ABs and for my money that means he can fuck off if he doesn't like the colour of the money he's getting.

I'd rather be shit than settle for distant 2nd, but some people have a different view and that's cool.

Pretty sure he was the flyhalf last two times we beat them.

Weird article from Greg Martin,

"The problem is that the senior Wallabies feel the younger blokes get away with hell and there’s an aspect to this that the culture is getting eroded away and the youngsters keep doing things and there’s no accountability for their actions.
"It shouldn’t be up to a 24-year-old to make those statements. It should be a Wallabies captain.
"Part of it is brought on because we’ve lost so many captains, from Rocky (Elsom) to Jimmy (James Horwill) to Will (Genia) to David Pocock.
"In normal situations, you’d have a rock-solid team.
"But the loss of those four out of the team is what’s rocking Australian rugby. It means no one from the team is making the representation between the players and the coaches.
"There’s jealousy in the team, the fact that he gets away with things that others don’t. But he’s an extraordinary talent and you need to nurture those."

It's worth a read, above is the main problem I have with it, he basically defends Quade and says its a lack of leadership and other players are jealous of him. That of genia and Horwill were fit it would be fine cos they understand Quade. Yet above he says that Quade has alienated himself due to his off field actions but should have no responsibility for them as he is talented.

Marto. Blame the older players. Jealousy.

Cracking, but expected from Marto who seems to think the sun shines out of Quade's arse.

The ARU needs to act with a heavy hand here or they will be seen as a pushover.

FFS, the real problem here is that we've had our arses kicked by the All Blacks for 10 years.

Robbie doesn't have the answers so he needs to go.

JON doesn't have the answers so he needs to go.

Nucifora - what is he good for?

Keep Quade, and bring back Gits.

Marto's mistake is in reading that as jealousy. It's not. It's that some players take responsibility, behave maturely, and commit to their team and their teammates. Some don't. The former don't wish they could get away with behaving like the latter, they want their team mates to get their shit together.

In my view, it's absolute rubbish analysis and yet more evidence that Marto has little of value to contribute to the public discussion of rugby.

We never won shit with Giteau either. He's hardly the antidote.

Your hyperbole indicates your prejudices.

Mundine is universally admired by Indigenous Australians. Millions of Muslims support his views on 9/11. And the Bulldogs (and all other NRL clubs) wanted SBW to play for them next season.

How do you feel about David Pocock given that same sex marriage was voted out by a margin of two to one last week.

These guys are young, media novices and easy targets for those who disagree with them. The real outrage is that the head of the organisation, the highest paid person at ARU, wasn't knocking on QC (Quade Cooper)'s front door an hour after his first tweet. According to another thread, he was attending to the machinations of another job he has. That is the outrage.
Yes my post was an exaggeration, unfortunately that has distracted from my point about Khoder.

His liking for Malcolm X stems from people having the balls to stand by their convictions. What David Pocock and Malcolm X have in common in Khoder's ideology, is they have made a stand that will bring a better life to those who are marginalized. SBW, Quade and Mundine were not marginalized. He has manufactured situations to develop a seize mentality in his camp. Haters are gonna hate boys, we've got to stand up for our beliefs and get our fair share in this world.

As you have said in an earlier post it's all about ego and money for him. If that floats his boat that's fine

The part I have an issue with is how he has gone about it. As you have said 'these are young media novices and easy targets for those who disagree with them.' They are not articulate individuals who can deftly handle debate in a public forum. Instead they give sound bites that polarize and in the eyes of some, damage their reputation. A manager who truly cared about his client would not put a naive individual (SBW and Quade) into a situation such as this.

Over the last 2 years it has worked out for SBW, but there has been a lot of luck along the way. He has been injury free, played in great teams with excellent coaches. Will Quade have similar luck? Time will tell, but Quade is not SBW and there aren't many teams like the All Blacks, Crusaders or Chiefs around to provide him the opportunities.

Ultimately I don't like how he tells his clients to have balls and rattle the cages in the public forum when they are not skilled to do it whilst he hides from the media. He likes to pull the strings but hide from the heat.

All things discussed in other threads, this one is about Quade and his personal responsibility for his actions. It's a problem, a real problem and deserves discussion.

WJ you are still talking about him in the present tense.
He is not coming back from this, unless he completely capitulates with humiliating public apologies etc.
Anyone think he might?
Me either, good luck in your new job Quade.

If people are going to talk about comments made on twitter it'd be nice to actually see said comments.. I have no inclination of ever going near that abomination.

Thats Unfortunate seeing how all this started.
More happen on twitter in Rugby than on the field these days

Yep, he'll be back, he is too valuable a property to be discarded, particularly in Queensland, which is a pretty important market.

I like to watch, what exactly do you like to watch?

Because rugby that Australia's a chance of winning doesn't appear to be it.

Berrick Barnes is not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy. Mutton dressed as lamb.

Schmoo is washed up. He won't regain his pace after this latest set back.

Quade is one of the few sparks of brilliance that Australian rugby has going for it.

But hey, let's all band together and thin out our talent pool and wonder why we haven't won the Bledisloe for 20 years.

Losing Quade is not the answer to Australian Rugby's problems.

It is quite conceivable that Cooper could do a deal with a NH team. Play Super Rugby, bugger of to France and come back for the next season.

That's one way of making some good money.

If the reports of toxicity/player unease are true then surely an away game against South Africa is the perfect setting for the players to show their displeasure?
