QLD Premier Rugby 2025

Also Norths

that’s a scoreline they’ve been in the opposite end of far too many times! When the last time the eagles scored 70+?

@Oracle83 would be torn with that result. His team got sparked by the local rugby club he finds himself visiting on Saturdays!
Oracle was stoked with this result - I was down there cheering both teams and stoked for ny local underdogs. Despite their result last week Norths showed good depth they subbed heavily in last half and held their own.

Norths 1-15 superior but kudos to Sowerbey and Macdermott they battled to the very end.

So good to see the tireless Norths admin rewarded with what I can only assume to be a record win.

Why is Taqele N parked out on the wing at this level?? I watched the game on replay and probably fair to say his involvements directly resulted in 4 Norths tries where he had the last pass to setup the scorer.

He’s gotta be running around at 130kg, if he played inside centre (in attack) even for a half I reckon he’d get the QPR try scoring record.

Setting them up is as good as scoring them. His presence out wide created space and opportunities for the centres and his winger as well as the 15 when he injected himself down that side. The Uni winger would have had nightmares last night. The Norths forward pack looked formidable too.

Credit to Taqele I was on his sideline and he coached and encouraged them all humbly and effectively. Keen to see them when McCulloch and JTA (Jeffery Toomaga-Allen) return.

They won and scored 71 points........I think they got it right

GPS n EASTS both looked good - didn’t see Brothers game in ACT - difficult day to make too many assumptions for the rest of the season but well done to those that handled conditions well
………..’difficult day to make to may assumptions for the rest of the season’ - This hasn’t aged well - UQ have now had over 140 points put on them in 3 games!

Yeh Im not criticising them more just figure he could be even more effective
I watched the game on Stan and thought they used him very well. He sucks in 3 defenders every time and if he's not carrying he's a decoy the defence can't afford to ignore either.

It was his first game in a number of months and from what I've heard, his relationship with the bloke who brought him in is not to be underestimated. They are very close and old mate knows how to get him performing at his peak.

I also thought the 13 looked outstanding with and without the ball and that look one way, pass the other for the third try was sublime.

We saw the influence JTA (Jeffery Toomaga-Allen) had on them last year when he came in as @Oracle83 mentioned and they still have Minimbi to come in too.

Perhaps something is hatching nicely at The Nest......

The way the 15 played McCulloch might have to resign himself to playing on the wing.

And whilst Uni were well beaten by the time the Colts 9 came on, I thought he did very well, especially marshalling some tired bodies. Kept the spark going. Great to see

The way big centres have dominated recently (Siakasini and Rabouliku the obvious ones) it makes plenty of sense. The mismatch is so hard to deal with at this level. Also might help ameliorate the defensive issues he has with his wide turning circle.

Noting the comment was made with specific reference to GPS n East’s which was left from you’re quote so with full context GPS lost/ East’s won but the spoon could certainly be heading to St Lucia in 2025 based on early form.

East’s forward pack looking great and Nuku Swerling a real handful for opposition teams in his 3rd Hospital Cup Club. What a potential combination he would make with Frankie G.

I really thought that Wests would have converted one of those late chance (there were multiple) yesterday - it does seem that Wests have struggled to win close games over the last couple of seasons notably the last two grand finals.

The game would not have been so close if Wests had not scored a try off a pass that I will swear to my dying day was forward. That was worth two competition points to them. That could prove interesting at the end of the year.

I felt the same watching it live, I was speaking with a couple of players after the game and they said the talk on field was that they already had 2 losing bonus points and would only get 2 points for the draw so felt the may as well go for the win
