Another player lost to Souths. Tye James playing for London Scottish. Not sure if he will be back at Chipsy Wood at the end of the NH season.

Ty James was on the way out either way, hearing he hasn't been happy for a while now, promised a few things by head coach Morgan and nothing delivered seems to be a common theme with all players who have departed. He was also a big fan of the coaches Luke Samoa & Cian O'Connor who were sacked by GM, situation could still get worse if Souths don't hit the ground running with results on the field.

I'm curious, what would a club coach be promising players?

The last point porridge man makes is important - all of this has happened in the off-season and we don’t yet have results that tell us whether these ‘issues’ are going to severely impact results on the field. Morgan doesn’t seem like the type of operator to roll out a shit team and be content with running near the bottom of the ladder. You’d have to think he considered the impact of these decisions before making them and is confident there are enough good cattle to have a decent crack this year. At least I’m sure that is what he’s telling the board at South’s.

In saying that, if South’s come any lower than 5th I wouldn’t be surprised to see him walk away.

Rhian Stowers played in the GC 9s over the weekend for one of the teams stacked with former NRL players and I believe they won the shield comp.

Looked good in space.

Be played in a preferred position & $ possibly?

He's a winger \ fullback. He played both in the past two seasons, very well. Had goal kicking duties most of the time to.

Players who think they should play in a certain position and spit the dummy when they don't are the problem, not the coach.
Surely $ comes from club management, not the coach.

Surely a player only keeps his position if he's the best choice in the club.
That's the ideal outcome from the coach/club's perspective, but not from the player's perspective. "Best" is also sometimes subjective.

For a hypothetical example if you're brought in with an aim to play as a running fullback and the coach decides he'd rather have a distributor at 15 and pushes you out to the wing, would you not feel put off?

If I was still playing in the top side I'd be happy to contribute where I can.
Nothing is certain in life, let alone a sporting field or team.
There are never any guarantees.

In any case it seems this particular player has been given an opportunity abroad, for better or worse that's what our club comps have become, feeder comps for everyone else.
Can't blame the players. But I don't see this one as a problem at souths thing. More an opportunity to get further in the game, or at the least, experience the world.
