and before that was pretty handy player as well.
I can’t really see or forecast any improvement coming for Norths in 2023. Their colts 1 didn’t play finals footy so how will that drive any success in the higher grades at Norths? Unfortunately for Norths it looks like more of the same to me.
Bloody hell @Bulldog Wests were awful in that video , some great tries by Norths but Wests defence was embarrassing. If there is natural movement upwards into grades from the colts team hopefully there is some hope for Norths. Some serious depth in their colts squad hopefully it continues to build, only can be better for the comp.
Also to remember, they lost 5 competition points due to playing a guy who wasn't supposed to play due to three yellow cards. If it wasn't for that costly mistake they would have been top 4.
Regardless they showed plenty of enthusiasm and skill through the year that they can build on. Turned out to be a pretty good team given they didn't get any of the superstar big names.I am pretty sure they would have still missed out, because it goes on win-loss and I assume draw before it goes to For and Against, but I may be wrong.
Big Spud heenan back at Yoku road to help run the forwards!Any news on coaches or player changes for the 2023 season. Rumors should be at its best this time of year?

GPS finally get their man after his brother moves on UQ! I think he and Shane Arnold are mates too?Big Spud heenan back at Yoku road to help run the forwards!
Both Marist old boys with GPS ties not too surprising. Happy he followed his brother when he did ,GPS finally get their man after his brother moves on UQ! I think he and Shane Arnold are mates too?
What’s the general vibe from UQ supporters for how the club will go now?
I can’t think of a club in the modern rugby era whos identity was so closely linked with their coach, obviously a large part of that was due to how long he served there. But even from some of the comments across here and the Reds thread, it’s obvious how much respect he has at UQ and what an integral cog in building the systems and programs he has been. It’s very Wayne Bennett in his prime vibes, which is a good thing.
Has Heeno left some sacred commandments to follow? Or will UQ be looking at a few years of change as they grow accustomed to life post Heeno. To use my Bennett example again, when he leaves a club it tends to go through some lean times finding its feet again.
doesn't mean he's not a good Coach though right? Took Wayne Bennett 5 seasons before he won a Premiership as an example! Those first 3 years of Broncos sides were pretty much the Qld State of Origin Team minus Big MalSo I must be missing something… in two seasons at Norths, they ran 2nd last in 2021 & 5th in 2022 - Never made Finals.
I would think he would be looking to try and make finals with Colts first.
Bulldog you 22 hero put your bone away mate - we have never said they are going to be some world beater club like wests who have won 3 hospital cups in 45 years just love to see them improve and we all agree they can only get better from here.So let me get this right - the Norths recovery is based around a Colts 1 team that finished 5th and demolished a very poor Wests colts team.
Guys you have to go out and get some “winners” in your club because if you keep doing the same thing with the same types of coaches and players you will keep getting the same results.
Someone said that QPR is not cyclical well what is common with notable wooden spoon battling clubs of recent time - Snbk, Wests, SC Stingrays they have all played or won grand finals in last 15-20 years - I can’t recall the last time Norths made the final four.
With the imminent demise of English Premier rugby will we see a few "tourists" here next year?
