Hear that young Crook may be leaving the wing and venturing further inside - will put cat amongst pigeons down there at TSS with one of Cox boys (Sean I think) an import and Rabbits brother John all wanting 12 or 13 - trouble is the other blkokes cannot cover that coveted wing spot.

The fun and games will continue for months and months and disappointment will surely follow for some not only at TSS but all other GPS schools as well.

Is big Michael Bermingham repeating at BGS in 2010. How old is he ??? 22 or 23 Ha Ha - supposed to be around 115 kg which is bigggg - just needs to improve his technique and fitness and he will be a champion in years ahead - big strong no-nonsense country boy :yay :yay

Yeah Crook apparently wants 13, Cox still wants 15 although Crook has eyes on that as well - anywhere but wing. O'Connor can whistle for his dinner after all the other positions are filled - my bet he will be at 12 but he better learn to pass the bloody pill.
If Crook makes the break at 13 doesn't matter who is on wing they won't keep up but it's better to have a break than to have the ball die in the centres which it would do if O'Connor was at 13. Bad enough he might be at 12 but that's the only position for him.
Then again, have Crook at 15, O'Connor and Cox interchangeable at 12 and 13. Could be a good attacking backline then. Lousi on one wing and a ghost on the other.

Looking forward to watching young Crook in a few games in 2010. From all reports he has the size and speed. I wish him well.

Will be interesting down there on the tourist strip - TSS will play "their" players where THEY think it will benefit THEIR rugby team - without being influenced by anybody - sometimes a good thing and sometimes a bad thing

That depends - a new coach - no preconceived ideas - a clean slate and no-one is preselected. So by your own word shooter the school will pick the best person in the best position so Crook should be at 13 14 and 15.
As he can’t cover each position I would say 13 would be first optioin and 15 second. Wingers can get what the others feed them an Crook would bested there, particularly as TSS are hnting a premiership this year, with a new coach announced.
Also, Cox at 15 has shown he has little flair at 15. His first option is to kick and his kicks are generally aimless and a waste of energy, he rarely creates anything substantial in attack so that leave a conumdrum for the new coach whoever he (or she) may be. 2 good 13's and one of them is great at 15 as well but the one who really wants 15 isn't suited to be there.

I suppose that goes for the forwards as well eh. There may some players who show increased fitness and tenacity, there nay be new players who may put pressure on incumbents who may not be taking things as seriously as they should fitness wise.
It's happened before and I am sure it will happen again where an incumbent gets outplayed by a newbie.

Who knows.

Bermingham was in Year 11 this year and is back in 2010. I suspect he'll be terrorising some unsuspecting GPS front rowers.

He played U17s club post season rugby this year so I suppose his real age is akin to his peers.

Absolutely - skill, tackling, toughness, fitness, mongrel, dedication all have their place not only in the modern game at schoolboy level but also at the pointy end of the spectrum - hear tell that TSS has new coach in place - Kiwi bloke with great wraps - will be interesting to see how he enjoys the GPS season. Also heard that TSS has a new young centre only in year 11 (next year)who may push for a spot - supposed to have some big wraps on him - was a leaguie so as always the question will be how he converts to our game.
Are TSS really contemplating (wrong word) believing they are "favourites" for the trophy this year. May pull up a bit short in the front row maybe - backs and loosish forwards look good but as we all know you still have to win up front before the backs get their opportunities out wide

I think you will find that centre is also a loose forward and I heard he is more being groomed for the 16's. The other one they were hoping to get didn't eventuate which left a hole at 13.

Hey Whispers,
Do you know what happened over there on that hallowed Ross Oval - why , where has he gone etc etc - do you know who is new coach.
They say that Jones from TSS has taken up residence at Churchie and they play his old school (TSS) in first game - gee there would be some bragging rights up for grab I reckon - wonder if he will bring out the best in them

Yeah well they also recruited the chaplain from TSS as well. Quite possibly they realised they didn't have the cattle to put carry out what Mr. Jones ic capable of instructing and have gone for a higher influence. I think in that level of effect he is a greater asset than Mr. Jones.

Anyone know why Mr Jones and the chaplain left TSS for Churchie? Heard he (Jones) had a difference of opinion with the sportsmaster there.

And who did the Chaplain have a difference of opinion with? ;)

I do not believe there was any difference of opinion at all. Jonesy had wanted to move to Brisbane for a while and I suspect he would have loved the chance to team up with Gary Nucifora.
As for Fthr Gadd I have no idea other than it is closer to the diosese centre.
Obviously a career move.
