I think its Brisbane- as the 16's tournament has been moved to Sydney, the usually divide it between NSW and QLD for the major schools tournaments. So I'm guessing Nudgee College or Ballymore if held in Brisbane.

also Browning to 6.

Saw Browning in the national tournament at Knox. Looked like a hard player with a high work rate and played older than he was; skilful with it too. Looks like he will be an 8 as a senior player and will likely have the bulk for it.

PS: Anybody know where the national tournament is being held next year??

Definitely at Ballymore

Does anyone know who is coaching the GPS 1st XV teams next year. It would be good to have a list up here.

Actually I think it would be Nudgee, as the 25 million dollar request got knocked down by K Rudd. Nudgee have the accomodation right there. Makes sense for Nudgee.

It's what I heard from a QRU representative, that QLD probably have the tournament. But time will tell who officially gets it.

jets- Damon Emtage has a gig with Grammar apparently, the former reds backs coach.

Eagle and Graham Noon are BSHS coaches.

Former All Black Craig Green is the BBC coach again in 2010.

Question always remains : Is Mr Green again going to be disappointed in 2010 - it would be great for GPS Rugby for the old Broke Back College to go well one day :lmao:

I think BBC will have a solid side in 2010. For a change, there's about 8 or 9 boys that were in and around the First XV this year.

They won't ever be able to compete at the top level until they change their policy of not buying in loads of players like the other GPS schools do, or have repeats either i.e. TSS, Nudgee, BSHS (selective), IGS etc

For example, this year they had no repeats and only two players (Nigel Genia and Charlie Morrow) who were established First XV selections from last year.

I think they came 7th or thereabouts (above TGS, IGS and BGS) which I thought was a good result for a team of 'journeyman'.

Green is a very able coach.

thought TSS had a chap named Adrian Blundell who would/should have been a certain starter for one of the better GPS rugby schools - think he coached under 15's South Coast teams for past few years, played at the Breakers some time ago and assisted with First XV in 2009. Currently Head of Rugby.

I am told that Head of Rugby cannot be First XV Coach Why - seems odd :'(

The point is i suppose is that he is quite knowledgeable, very enthusiastic, motivated etc etc and in the TSS culture already and my reports are is that he would love the job - sometimes these schools need to realise what they have and not look around unnecessarily for a new man who may take a year or two to fit into the schools culture.

Sounds like Jones has left a big hole - maybe Phil Mooney might be a shot - but you have to be a school teacher

Dropped in to Rugby 7's on Gold Coast on weekend and saw a young bloke named cayden Matahere playing 10 for Sunnybank - kid was a gun in years past but certainly has wacked on the beef and lost mobility etc - may be a shift to No 1, 2 or 3

Saw Breakers winger/centre Crook - looked pretty impressive - am told in year 12 at TSS next year - will be a handful if given some room to move - big fast fellow who looks to impress selectors at all levels

I'm just getting it out there if he doesn't make schoolboys if he continues playing like he has. Then the coach has some answering to do.

looks even bigger in photo than in person. Might be wasted on wing - is he strong in defence ? maybe will end up in centres or at the back or at 7 if he wants to do some real work :lmao: :lmao:

looks bigger? - 6 foot 3 and 90kg - 10.9 for 100m -
can't go to the forwards - the mirror will get broken and the combe will jag the other players shorts

Not really GPS news but some positive spin for the Wests Brisbane Bulldogs. Sounds like Nigel Genia will join the Colts program at the Kennel next season.
