X-factor overload in this matchup :D Might have to drive the family up for some Saturday footy if that's the game to watch this round.

Courier Mail states in their round 3 report "Grey is Electric with a capital E."
Yes I indeed will be making the drive to Ippy to watch as my younger brother has a game and i am so keen to see how my beloved college bounces back after their controversial loss to a powerhouse BSHS.

My predictions for tomorrow's games:

TGS V TSS - After a big loss last week, TSS will be primed for a big performance on old boys day in front of a rowdy home crowd at Southport. However, TGS after 2 straight losses will be even more hungry. I see this game being an absolute grind with some late tries for both squads. TGS for me are the harder working team, with the likes of Joey Gray and Tom Bailey in the backrow. I think TGS get the win here in a very entertaining battle
TGS 24 - TSS 17/MOTM: Tom Bailey (TGS)

BBC V IGS
- At Brassal this game will be a good one. A great centres battle with Finn Kendall and James Grey facing up against Frank Howarth and newly imported Andres Ayache. I personally think IGS will give BBC a great run for their money, however after a loss last weekend i would be very surprised to see a 2nd competition front runner open their campaigns with 2 straight losses (TGS already begun 0-2).
BBC 26 - IGS 14/MOTM: Gray O'neill (BBC)

GT V BGS
- Gregory Terrace have a bit of momentum heading into tomorrow's battle against BGS up at Northgate, after taking down ACGS in a surprise victory at home in round 2. BGS have had a while to prepare for this matchup, but the late injury to young gun inside centre Harper Enasio leaves a big whole for BGS to fill. Max Romer is back from injury this week which adds another layer of depth to the backline. But nonetheless a big loss for this inexperienced BGS team. I see Saia Poese exploiting this throughout the game well. Even without Oliver Nasser, GT should get the win. Conditions will be challenging with 14km/h winds at kickoff time, which will allow BGS to play their style of footy, similar to that of England's international team. A grind is what this Grammar squad wants, full of kicking and errors to stem the momentum of Terrace's spark out wide. I still see Terrace winning this game in a closer result than most would expect.
GT 26 - BGS 18/MOTM: Charlie Hollyman (GT)

NC V ACGS
- Nudgee are without key playmaker Charlie O'connell which will without a doubt impact their cohesiveness as a unit. Alongside 'Chuck' on the sidelines will be Carter Welfare who scored an impressive double whilst assisting on a length of the field special late in the game last weekend. Nudgee's reshuffled backline will rely on 2 year players such as Sam Watson, Nick Conway and Jacob Johnson. Big news for Churchie is that Treyvon Pritchard is back. This completely changes the game for Churchie. Call me crazy, but i see an absolute masterclass from the likes of Blanch, Austin and Pritchard in front of a packed home ground down at East Brisbane. I reckon each of them scores a try of their own, and this will ultimately get ACGS over the hump against a heavily injured NC team.
ACGS 34 - NC 28/MOTM: Treyvon Pritchard (ACGS)

Cheers lads
I like these predictions I believe TGS will come out firing, they are arguably the fittest team in the GPS and could cause some serious damage to the less fit TSS side. Although IGS have come out strong with a win against TGS I think BBC will get the best of them in the end game, even with these injuries. BGS Vs GT will be a lot closer than everyone is thinking, the loss of Nasser will prove to be extremely difficult for the boys of GT. BGS also having the return of key back Max Romer. Have to agree with final score margin though. And lastly ACGS vs NC. I'm just curious as to how the hell you have Churchie beating NC. Nudgee have been lethal to every team they've faced so far. Their forwards are extremely aggressive, and I believe they will dominate the set piece and overall battle.
But otherwise these predictions look spot on.

For what it’s worth …. these are my tips for Round 3 (the first mentioned team is at home).

IGS vs BBC
This will be a tight game and I expect IGS to really challenge BBC and push them all the way. However, I think BBC will just get up by less than 7 points.
MOTM - BBC No. 10 - Tony Kennedy to be the match winner

TSS vs TGS
I can see TSS bounce back in a big way from the poor performance against Nudgee last weekend and I’m tipping them to continue TGS’s misery with a 0 - 3 start to the season!
MOTM - TSS No. 8 - Agapetos Lote-Felo

ACGS vs NC (Match of the round)
I’d have to agree with WHACKO J and tip Churchie in an upset, similar to the last time Nudgee visited Main Oval 2 years ago. Churchie to pressure & test out debutant 10 Archie Mesritz and new 12 Max Rohan in defence. The battle of the hookers should be a highlight too but I’m tipping Churchie by 7 or less in a great game!
MOTM - ACGS No. 10 - Fletcher Austin

BGS vs GT
I’m tipping a dour struggle at Northgate and if there was a game that could end up in a draw and with all due respect, this is the game. However, I think GT’s grinding win over ACGS last week and with Grammar having the bye, I think GT will continue there winning momentum and get up.
MOTM - GT No. 13 - Siosaia Poese

Inexperienced 10 and 12 for Nudgee. I guess we will see at 2:15 tomorrow

New to the forum fellas, I was hoping it would be a place of serious footy talk but comments like this from wishful thinkers are making me think I've come to the wrong place. Even though Nudgee is showing some inexperienced 1sts players in their backline, they have proven over and over again after injuries that the depth of their program is unmatched. I am confident nudgee will walk away tomorrow with another convincing victory under their belts. You can hop on the churchie train if you want but the only stop is the local dog park.

I think I'm going to have to call you crazy on this one mate. The lack of experience seen in Mesritz (who, mind you, has shown to be more than capable both in trial games and even coming off the bench to replace O'Connell last week) and Rohan (whose confidence should be heavily boosted after a solid performance last week) is more than made up for by the skill and tenacity of Conway, Johnson, and Patterson. Especially since Churchie are coming off a loss to a below par Terrace side and Nudgee are riding the high of a demolition derby against TSS. Although I guess we will find out at 2:20pm tomorrow. Should be a cracker.

Great rugby afternoon. I attended ACGS V NC. I comment below on just how I saw the game .In summary ,Both teams defence were outstanding , sustaining intense periods of ‘on the line’, in the trench warfare. They both experienced wave after wave of attack and were able repel. They both are very fit packs. The difference were a missed conversion and missed penalty otherwise, give the chocolates to Churchie.

After NC massive win last weekend against an impressive TSS outfit on paper, NC were brimming with confidence coming into this round especially as Churchie had suffered the humiliation of a loss to a lowly but deserved GT. Churchie should have been preparing for a bottom of the table finish after that GT performance, They obviously we’re out to right that wrong this week and set up an ambush for Nudgee with their star full back back in position after a week off.

16a s were a support act where a tight battle saw Churchie impressively hold Nudgee to a loss and then a ding dong physical battle in the 2nds where the score flattered Nudgee, as both teams went hammer and tongs at each other with real passion and feeling. Both games were wonderful precursors TO THE MAIN EVENT.

The first half started in the usual way with Nudgee scoring next to the posts in first 5 mins, and you could be forgiven for thinking another 50 plus score was coming. But Churchie had other ideas, having seen what the 2nd half had installed for TSS last week. They appeared to starch up and the usually confident Nudgee parents, looked around a little dazed and with raised eyebrows at half time- score 12-12 with their star team having to defend for their lives in the first half. However last weekend was close at half time, and Nudgee demolished the TSS defence , so they weren’t too worried. The Confidence still remained with their supporters. They’ll soon dispatch these Churchie upstarts.

However when Nudgee were down for 12-15 half way through the 2nd half, the penny was dropping, this Churchie outfit we’re not easy beats And Nudgee hadn’t got the memo. So Nudgee lifted and threw the Kitchen sink at the Churchie line and where usually other teams had cracked, Churchie stood their ground, and NC raid after raid failed. In the end, the NC set piece line out finally worked, and NUDGEE scored an unattractive rolling maul try in the corner With a magnificent conversion to get them home. A collective sigh went around the ground, and the confidence posture was able to be resumed as if nothing had happened.

However Churchie has done a huge favour to the rest of the competition with this tenacious loss. They have showed how to beat Nudgee and that this NC team is fallible. BSHS ,BBC , TGS and even GT Maybe able to topple Nudgee. Nudgee however showed their class this afternoon and it’s obvious they must be premiership favourites, but they also have a learnt a lesson that teams like Churchie need to be respected as any team could beat them as it is a very even and competitive competition this year.

I applaud both teams for a wonderful spectacle this Afternoon.

The Grammar 11E's would have been able to withstand Nudgee when the penalty count was that ridiculously against them. Not only in the 1's, but across the entire day reports of simply outrageous penalty counts were coming across my desk. For example, the NC VS ACGS Thirds game saw Churchie awarded approximately 30 penalties to Nudgee's 10, and Nudgee given One red card and Two yellows with Nudgee still managing to draw. Maybe its just a coincidence, but it seemed to be a common theme across the day. Maybe Nudgee's discipline just wasn't up to standard. But definitely food for thought.

Churchie suffered the same ill discipline last week against GT with a massive penalty count against them and they paid a price. Nudgee got away with a win so they should think themselves lucky.

i have two rules on this subject.

Rule 1. The ref is ALWAYS right.
Rule 2. When the ref IS WRONG, refer to rule 1.
