Apologies for any misspelt names.
Hey all,

@WHACKO_JACKO.GT, I respect the time and effort that went into the making of this team but I do have some queries. Firstly, George hales named at reserve scrum half (21) is truly abysmal. His true raw talent and flashiness he has displayed in the first two rounds of the GPS 1st XV competition is truly spectacular. I would have him well clear of Tom Goldie (9) and believe this changed needs to be discussed. Secondly, not having Jackson O'Brien (3) from BGS is totally out of this world. He has been perfect and with his size, he is truly unstoppable. Scrummages well, carries well and is a low chop specialist. In my opinion he should be a clear pick and someone I would want in my team. Finally, my last point of contention (POC) is Levi Slater (18), aka Mr Mewer, as he always loves to mew. I believe he is a man for a system, he is within a strong Nudgee pack which is highly competitive, but his raw talent is just not there for me. Personally, I would have chosen Lucas 'The Pitbull' Clifford of the BBC 2nd XV over Levi as he a man who works hard and isn't afraid to go to the trenches for his team. He is also a no brainer for myself and hope this is a common thought. Would love to hear feedback on these opinion.

p.s. these are only personal opinions and not targeted to the personell

Kind Regards,
TheHammerLover

CANTEEN RANKINGS:

1. ACGS - Great chicken burger and chips, wide variety of snacks for a good price
2. NC - Good burgers and well priced
3. BGS - Really great burgers
4. IGS - Banging bacon and egg burger and very efficient serving
5. GT - Great chips and the line runs smoothly
6. TGS - Pretty good food but steep pricings and also not much choice for a proper meal
7. BSHS (Fursden) - Cook up a good burger on the grill, however the canteen is very small and clogs up very easily
8. BBC - Expensive and poor food quality, always a extensive line
9. TSS - Not much great to say, very expensive, no variety and also always a big line. The burgers are soggy and seem to have been sitting around for a while.

Completely Agree here. I would always look forward to a Churchie or NC feed after my games back in the day, and after recent visits the quality has never changed. Only change I would do is BBC, as they have better value than most with higher quality meats, so I would place them in the 3rd spot.

@WHACKO_JACKO.GT I know this isn't about footy but you seem to hate BBC did they do something to you back when you used to play them, you have none of their players in your team of the season, you have them in bad spots on the ladder I guess what I am trying to say is what have they done to you I'm interested

I remember the first time I played on Old Boys at TGS, it was in the 14As. I was new to the school in grade 8, after moving from Inverell State High, a term in I was placed in the TGS boarding house. I was selected at fullback, much to the boy who had been at the school years before me disappointment… Sorry mate. Anyways, it was a trial match pretty sure it was against the old foe Gregory Terrace. Fast forward to the second half, the ball was kicked to me off the drop punt. I caught it, opted against the kick return because of my fast feet (Atleast I thought). I run up, and was absolutely decked in the tackle by about 4 boys. Knocking me out instantly. I got up after 30 seconds and continued To play. My old man would always tell me if you are on that footy field you walk off that footy field, if you can’t walk you’re crawling, you are not getting carried off. I believe we drew that game. Good memories…

Will Devine is a new name. Was he the red head gear kid who wore 19 who replaced J. Hogan
Evening all,
Firstly,, I want to introduce myself formally to the forum. I am a TGS old boy finishing in 2004, I played in the first, and yes, for all those asking I do remember facing the feared Ben McCormack. Sidenote: Ben McCormack was an absolutely outstanding player back in his heyday and an even better coach, from what I hear.
Yeah, look a little bit of news I have heard about this young fella for a while. I have a close family friend whose son played with Will growing up. He is a big, strapping young man standing at 6'3 and has put on a lot of size in the off-season. He is a damaging ball carrier, as he displayed on the weekend coming on for the 1's, and I am thrilled to see him playing this weekend. He has worked tirelessly to make it and deserves his opportunity, wouldn't be surprised if he has a blinder this weekend.

Hope everyone enjoys a massive week of 1st XV rugby
