Having the reason would be great too.

How did he get Tip Top?

For some strange reason the Tip Top bread jingle got stuck in my head and it all became clear.

"Good on ya mum. Tip Tops the one. Good on ya mum."

They called Mortlock "The Wizard" or something back in the day didn't they?

Yeah, I always knew him as The Evil Wizard.

I guess you could also throw in Lachie "Lakkie" Turner.

Our lot love our nicknames, Bakkies nick will be his real name, Jac Fourie= Mossie, Fdp = Vuurhoutjie, Wynand Olivier = Meisiekind, Danie Rossouw = Pakslae, exct

We dont give nicks to please, it must irritate a bit, then they'r spot on.

I have suggested for years that Waugh should be known as "Manna".

Remember "Tugga" Waugh?

I once heard someone refer to Richard Brown as 'poof', abbreviate his first name and you will see why. I wouldn't recommend saying that to his face though.

Can I suggest 'Laptop'?

Should we bother with abbreviations?

No
TPN (Tatafu Polota-Nau), AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) (Adam Ashley-Cooper), SNK (Sam Norton-Knight) and DHP (Dane Haylett-Petty) are pretty commonly used.. I'd include them.

Potato Wow, The Earl, Sam Two Dads, Dane Two Dads would be better.
