Yep, well the Canes could still knock over the Chiefs I think, at least once, tend to suspect the Saders will handle the Clan ok, there perhaps need to be a quick meeting of all concerned and have a quiet work out who needs to win what, for thye greater good!;)

Yip,

Chiefs and the clan to be the fall guys. I'm down with that.

Also keep it 7 a side to ensure 4 try bonus points for everyone.

bulls have stormers twice, lions, brumbies and rebels so 5/5 from unlikely but may sneak in

Totally picking up what you're putting down, its obviously within the realms of possible.

Though I just can't see a team with 4 wins and 6 losses putting together 5 straight, then having the luck to be the first team ever to make the finals with only 9 wins.

yeah i will concede it is unlikely given they won't beat either the brumes or the rebs !;)

We can do it Bullrush! I'm counting Chiefs as a home game as it takes as long to get there as it does to drive across Auckland.

Definitely need the Clan and Canes to take one for the team in local derbies though.

Edit: They're playing in the 'naki, not the tron. Confidence not so high now.

I get the 'naki (=Taranaki or New Plymouth) and the 'nua (=Horowhenua or Levin or Carlos Spensor Land) but not the Tron (for Waikato or Hamilton). How does that work?

A number of years ago it was suggested in some tourism report or something that Hamilton should change it's name to Hamiltron - oh shit, I'm laughing even as I type....so yeah, the 'Tron' has kinda stuck.....LMFAO - I so wish they would do it just for my own amusement.....

Having lived in all of them let me assure you that whereas 'naki & 'nua are in everyday use no one from Hamilton ever ever ever uses 'tron. Worst branding attempt ever, even makes the "it's all ON in HamiltON" billboards at each end of town look cool & funky.

Well clearly the 'canes (home & away v Chiefs) & Clan (H&A v Crusaders) have to take a couple for the greater good but go hell for leather in their remaining non-derby fixtures. C'mon guys, you know it makes sense.

Is anyone else really uncomfortable with the talk about match fixing?

I was always respectful of Hansie Cronje and Lance Armstrong and was absolutely gutted when it came out what they had done. I just didn't think that two guys who I respected so much could stoop so low.

Personally I don't think it should be even talked about. Now if one of the teams does have a bad run then people will be encouraged to suggest that they've been told to tank or bought off. We don't need that on this site.

I think it's a joke, but just have to remember all the Reds fans in 2011 who wanted the Brumbies to gift the Reds a losing bonus point..

We're you born without a sense of humour or was it surgically removed?

Hawko,if you ever imagined in your head that we were serious, I think you may need seeing to.
As you say Teach, no way the Clan will bend over, and I bloody sure the Canes will be have an impact on who makes finals!!

You also missed the "Tu" though still not used as much sometimes get it from Manawatu supporters. I actually think the Nua was just about the first used by the players and as good Nua man I always expect us to lead the way:p, and keep supplying a few players for ABs, Wallabies and even the Kangaroos to borrow!!

If you read some of my posts I would like to think some gentle humour can be found (mostly of the Dad joke variety). I also know that some really serious issues can often be softened with a joke. But I just don't want anyone to think that any team might tank in Super Rugby for any reason. Lets leave that for aerial ping-pong (aka AFL) and the Indian Premier League.

Be interesting to see how many of the Naki faithful have turned and will support the Chiefs at the Bullring huh bada?? Think there maybe a few that are stll Canes supporters and may actually be happy to support the Blues just for style of rugby they play. The Blues obviously need to overcome their 'out of town blues', and with the forward pack they putting out now, that backline could just cause a bit of grief. I really do like the look of Hall,Hickey,Visinia,Nonu,Moala, Halai and Piatau if JK goes with them! I personally think although early in year I got a bit excited about Tevita Li, I think Visinia is going to cuase a wee bit of excitement over next year or so at either wing or fullback (perhaps with Piatau having run at 13). All I can say is bloody exciting lineup, and that from a Canes man!!!

Yeah, I should've made it even more bleeding obvious by suggesting that your lot might down trou & think of their happy place v my lot... I shall try to do better in future, perhaps I could signify my obscure attempts at humour with a catch-phrase: I believe that "bazinga" has been claimed, but there must be others that have fallen into disuse.
