For Qld, it appears that Fetoia is the likely 13 rather than Ioane, and there is some doubt over Houston, who is suffering from heat stress after the Cheetahs game.

So no Conner? and Digby pushed back to the wing, excellent.

do you think he will get less ball out on the wing fatprop?

That depends on Fetoia and his ability to get his wings into space.

Digby is your key strike weapon, I would have him at 13 in a heart beat.

Being closer to Cooper/Barnes gives him more ball.

At wing it is kick return and blind side crash ball most of the time.

He was replaced last week, was he injured?

No, that was Va'aulu who was replaced, and he is injured.

Fetoai & Edwards recalled for Waratahs match

Fetoai back into starting 15Wednesday, 4 March 2009
A front row reshuffle and the recall of hard tackling outside centre Charlie Fetoai are the only two changes to the QR Reds side to play the unbeaten Waratahs at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night.

Tighthead prop Dayna Edwards comes off the bench to relieve 2009 rookie Laurie Weeks, while Fetoai's recall moves Digby Ioane back to the wing in place of Brando Va'aulu (groin).

"We've rotated Dayna and Laurie to give Laurie a break - he's played a lot of footy already in what is only his first year as a fulltime professional," Head Coach Phil Mooney said.

Mooney said Fetoai had been performing well before he was forced out of the game against the Stormers with a shoulder problem, and on his return played strongly for the QAS Reds Academy 2nd XV in Sunday's curtain raiser, scoring two tries.

"Charlie's never been out of form and, with the opening provided by Brando's unfortunate injury, he's back in the side," Mooney said.

The QR Reds team is:

1 Greg Holmes (Sunnybank)
2 Sean Hardman (Brothers)
3 Dayna Edwards (Sunnybank)
4 Van Humphries (Souths)

18 Adam Byrnes (University)
19 Poutasi Luafutu (Wests)
20 Will Genia (Norths)
21 Anthony Fainga'a (Souths)
22 Blair Connor (Norths)

Meanwhile, 2009 signing Ezra Taylor will play his first run-on game of the year since recovering from a foot operation when he starts at blindside flanker for the QAS Reds Academy 2nd XV in the curtain raiser match against the Junior Waratahs.

The 2nd XV will be out to reverse Sunday's 29-15 loss to the Junior Waratahs when they play the return match.

Diggers was replaced too. Anthony Fainga'a came on and in true Fainga'a style, dropped a ball.

and Lucas keeps his spot, which I must say I am surprised about.

Yep, he hasn't matched his hype so far, I think they need him for his kicking.

Personally I think Genia is better as a 50 - 60 minute replacement impact player. He seems to go a lot better off the bench then when he starts.

When is the final Tahs team announced?

I reckon about an hour before kick off

ooooooohhhhhhh bugger:

Prop Benn Robinson has been cleared to play 50th match for NSW Waratahs

From correspondents in Sydney
March 05, 2009

Test prop Benn Robinson has been cleared of injury and will earn his 50th New South Wales cap when the Waratahs take on Queensland in a Super 14 match at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night.

Robinson had been in doubt after sustaining a blow to his left knee which forced him from the field in last week's 34-16 win over the Highlanders.

Coach Chris Hickey said Robinson's inclusion was a boost for the team on the eve of a typically fierce all-Australian derby.

"Benn's recovered quite well from the knock on the knee and is fit to take his place tomorrow against the Reds," Hickey said.

"We're expecting a strong contest up front, and a player with Benn's experience will add a lot to that contest.

"Everyone's come through the captain's run well, so now it's a matter of resting up and getting everyone's mind in order for what is going to be a great match tomorrow night."

In the only change to last week's team, Tatafu Polota-Nau is back in the starting line-up with Adam Freier on the bench.

Centre Timana Tahu will again start from the bench with Hickey electing to stay with Tom Carter in the starting No.12 jersey.

Sam Norton-Knight will play his 50th Super Rugby game, having earned nine caps for the Brumbies, while captain Phil Waugh moves ahead of David Lyons to be the second highest capped Waratah in Super Rugby, with 101 appearances.

Correct. Might be one of the few games Fava gets this year after the Tahs picked up Doherty. In hindsight, Fava was a strange buy, other than Hickey looking after one of Eastwood's own.

Unfortunately Fava bought a solid western force work ethic with him, puts more work into sculpting his beard than getting to the breakdown.

I'm keen to see Dennis, and stoked that Bennnnnn is fit.

Tom Carter had a good game last week as well, played his role well in what some might describe as a somewhat boring fashion.

Shit, in foresight Fava was a strange buy. If there was ever a player made for Japanese rugby, its Hoiles, and Fava is really the poor man's Hoiles.

Funny, I regard Hoiles as bit of a poor man's Fava. Fava in top form was better than Hoiles, I think. Just a shame that Fava was last in good form 4 years ago.
