If it is true, it is a great combination; but, I can't believe that juniors would have let Tepai go if they had first choice.
And who will play inside? And where does this leave Corey Tulloch who was by far the best inside centre at Schools, if not the best centre

If it was my choice I would have Tepai at inside centre, brillant defender (could assist the 5/8, if there are concerns about the 5/8's defence - but, I'm not going there) and leave Morgan at outside.

All Good!

What's wrong with a bit of humourous banter - better than slagging each other off

Meant to put a LMAO at the end my sentence. I was on my iphone in the pub when the battery ran out! Back at the lodge now!

BTW (and I am aware that this should be in the other forum) I curious to know if anyone knows how a player from the NSW II's went up in QLD? Fabian Natoli is his name. Wondering how he has been going if anyone is in the know!

Regards,
Newbie.

Looks to be a very strong team . I can't believe Tullochs not there. Only one specialist winger is a little concerning for me as well.

I have got this right - one CCC player. Blah, blah, blah ----------------------------------- a hex on all your footie boots.

Anyway, good luck to all the boys.

Stunned that School's did not select Tulloch. Country will be no doubt happy though.

No Jones at 15 either - simply unbelievable given his perfromances at the School Champs. I assume that Sydney got him.

Schools has also picked up the cream of the available props. Will be interesting to see who Sydney end up with at 1 and 3.

Kellaway got selected but didn't play at the Schools Champs. Taan Milne in the same boat .

Some very deserving selections in the squad but there are still one or two who should consider themselves quite fortunate.

Am I reading correct ... NO CAS players - Obviously the average performance at Knox 2 weeks ago is a telling point... So much for the folks who said Sydney got first crack at the players...This is a very strong side named above... Congrats fellas...

Schools probably would have lost a few in the trade off... Maybe one or more from Whicker, Afele, koutsoukis, Orr, Clark

You could be right!

I think you will find the starting centres will be T Milne and T Moeroa

Rara,

As CTPE can support I was the first in this room to make mention of Taane Milne, and made it known that he was actually a 16 year old playing-up (which I assume wasnt widely known to most in here). Taane is a specialist centre (that is where he plays for the Sydney Roosters), but he also has pace to burn and could play wing!

However let me throw this at you; Kellaway is also in the team and has a long standing (and developed) 'Centre Partnership' with Moeroa. Perhaps he might get the nod? However for mine Kellaway has been playing sublime rugby at 'Full-Back' and I can easily see him there as an alternative (he actually reminds me of a young Joe Roff for some strange reason)!

With that said I have made no secret of my support for Morgan and firmly believe he will be in the mix. Of all selected he is the best at breaking the first tackle and off-loading (he did this on numerous occassions at Schools)! Lets put it another way. Last year Milne was selected for the 'POWERHOUSE' NSWCHS U/15 league team that won the national championship. As a result he was selected for the Australian U/15 merit team. Given these facts how, in less than one calendar year (when Milne was still playing very well for the Roosters), was Morgan able to get the nod over Milne for the Centre position in the NSW U/16 State of Origin team?

All I am saying is that there is more than meets the eye with this lad so dont discount him!

Better still there is still a long way to travel until September so I dare say the competition has only just begun for all the lads who are contending for a spot in the starting 15!

Regards,
Newbie.

Unbelievable that not one CAS player made the team, assuming the selectors only saw the first game against ccc which admittedly was a shocker as the CAS boys played abnormally bad, but then the next 2 games obliterated the other teams. Does this not show an ounce of talent? again admittedly to weaker teams, but weaker teams that held their position too stronger teams earlier in the tournament. What can you do though! thats schoolboy rugby

See the earlier posts

CC,

Mate have a look at the earlier posts for a better explanation, however let me give this example.

I dare say it would have been the case that Tulloch would have appeared on the CJRU and NSWSRU list of selected players. But unless we cut young Mr Tulloch in half only one team can get him (and this would have been the case for a lot of players where each would have appeared on two selection lists).

Moving on those same players appearing on dual lists go into a pool and each association takes a turn choosing one each (i.e. Schools then SJRU then CJRU then back to Schools and so on until all the players are divided up).

With respect to Tulloch if it was SJRU's turn they could not choose if him as he wasn't eligle for SJRU to select him (i.e. he doesn't play club).

But once they are all divided up SWAPS CAN TAKE PLACE (i.e. 'HORSE TRADING' as some would say).

This year Schools had the first turn I believe! But when selecting would a prudent coach try an aim for combinations if he wasn't able to get each of the best players (e.g., go for champion team as opposed to a champion player).

Hope that helps mate!

Regards,
Newbie!
