Joeys vs Scots
Kings vs Grammar
Riverview vs Shore
Newington vs High

I tip Kings over grammer, Riverview over Shore and Newington over high. I'm not sure about Joeys and Scots, I think it will be very close but it is played at Hunters Hill so I presume Joeys will steel the win.

Fair dinkum Nostradamus – you call the straightforward shots, but baulk at the only one where we all scratch our heads – Scots by 12!

After such a big game last weekend for View; they will find it difficult to back up. Like the Reds V the Brumbies on the weekend, Shore could steal this one against View...

shore played a gutsey joeys side and let the game get away form them. a red card to a shore boy for dissent showed the frustration they were under but they will comeback hard against a riverview team that from what i hear kicked their way to victory

They defended their way to Victory Muffinman. 1 try a piece, even with Newington having 75% possession...

Newington turned down at least 3 very easy kicks at goal because they thought they would score from the Lineout after they kicked to the corner. They shouldn't have been so arrogant - take the points when they are on offer is the number rule in competition rugby.

As Joe Mac said - View had very little ball, but the difference was when they actually got in to the Newington half they left with points. I wouldn't read anything in to the score line. All that matters is the result, especially when playing away from home. A win is a win is a win.

How i think he is the most exciting year 10 playing, Joeys- Deegan= Stand and deliver to Barclay and Le Levire, Sandell and penisi= work hard but aren't the best in the Pack. Lussik= stand and deliver, cracks under pressure. Kellaway and redden will be the 2 exciting prospects this season, they are easily the stand outs

Anyone got details on Baldwin's broken ankle? This might make it easier for the selectors....

Broken ankle, out for selection and that probably opens the door to Jack Walters (S) to take the position, but i think he may have got it anyway, with the class of footy he has been playing i'd have Walters

Is that sure - it's broken?? That's terrible news about a fine player.

I watched him last year against joeys, this year in the trial against joeys and on sat against view. On all three occasions he has looked one of the most committed blokes running around and in my opinion the only bloke from new that genuinely was up for the contest on sat. That being said no 8 wells played a real captains knock. He was in everything and singlehandedly led to the demise of the two big bopper props from new. He just kept running into the teeth of the battle. He was supported well by 6 and 5.

Don't think view have much in the backs

We were so baffled by news lack of rugby sense on the run and would have thought that as a minimum Joel wilson & James Godfrey could have got a message out there to go back to what they do best

For mine and my fellow overweight middle aged mate, view had more blokes running around with genuine passion for the jersey, Baldwin was obvious in his commitment, but this was highlighted by some other players who drop their heads when it got tough and late

Still don't think either side will go through undefeated. Haven't seen scots... Will be watching joeys for the rest of the year, so some good viewing to come.

Lee, what's the word on the kickoff time for the battle of the Catholics on aug 13? Too many mixed reports, my nephew is at joeys but hasn't heard, others say it's views call

Would love to know

Love your user name! Ah the good old days when you could ruck people..... Young blokes these days don't know how much fun they're missing out on! And they whinge when someone steps on their legs! If only they knew how it used to be!!

You are so right with your above observation, and how often does this happen in schoolboy rugby! Last year Joeys were average at best, yet they managed to beat both Kings and View on sheer guts and will alone. I agree with you that it is unlikely that View or Scots will go through unbeaten - largely because of this factor. On any given weekend Joeys or Kings or Shore are capable of playing well above their apparent average ability of this year and knocking off an unsuspecting Scots or View side. Makes for a great competition...

Ah - the Marist Brothers against the Jesuits: talk about religious warfare.

To answer your question: I have no clue, but a call to the school during the week before the game would be wise.

Terrible news about Baldwin, thought he was a standout in News loss to the above said Jesuits, this definately leaves a GPS backrow of Wells, Walters and possibly Dempsey? any thoughts on the last backrow spot???

I heard from a View teacher on the weekend that it is likely to stay at 3:15
