I got informed the other day by a Shore dad that Shore are considering moving to the 3rd XV competition with the likes of High and Grammar. Is this mere speculation and rumour spreading?
Even in Shore's near 20 year premiership drought, with much worse losses than what we have seen this season, they did not move to the 3XV comp. This information is what I would call 'CAP'.

Nate, Lotu, Edwin and Boston all Kings pedigree!

Question, Austin Dubriage who made the Aus 20s side last year was unable to crack it this year or even make the camp. he is playing first/second grade at uni at the moment so was he left out due to performance attitude ect?

Hadely Tonga aswell was selected for camp but didn't make the side? assume this is down to the fact he just hasn't played much 15s or even footy over a two year period.

Hadley has played no Rugby in a year and a half. He just needs to play something and probably target the LA Olympics with the 7s side as the Tahs back 3 stocks are fairly jammed at the moment. Always guys miss out on these squads who are still at the required standard.

Good to see a the heavy GPS representation. Doing there bit to subsidise Rugby development in Aus. Dillon and Grover from View. Sharples, Fowler, Doyle, Mangelsdorf from Joeys.

Should we suggest they just wear the GPS rep gear?

Think there are better options today. Lachie Smith from Kings also missed out from camp, I was hoping Marshall LM would get a look in but size isn't on his side - love how he plays.

Yh i think Dubirage has been underwhelming since his year 12 season so selection makes total sense. Lachy and marshal just are very undersized and also have to consider for smith the two 9s infront off him are just more classy and perfectly sized 9s.

Marshal you would hope can crack this side next year, been really impressed with his attitude after missing the Aus 18s side last year.

My top three finishes to a Joeys v View match at The Swamp.

3rd place. 2016 Cracker of a game. Joeys win with a late penalty near the bell.

2nd place. 2020 Down 7-0 with one minute left Joeys score wide to take it to 7-5. Now with just the kick off and no time to play with Joeys have to go the length and score a try to win. No knock on's , no slip ups and all St Ignatius has to do is force a mistake to win this hard fought match.

1st place. 2018. The Grand daddy of them all. View scores late to snatch the lead. Joeys have 1 minute on the clock. Then this happens.

Marshall should move to 9. He would thrive there, i think he would quickly be ranked the best amongst his peers in that position but he’d take a step back first.

All through your cerise coloured lenses I see.

The goat last minute finish though has to be 2003 though @Joker at HH.

Last round of the season, both sides undefeated in the single round comp and the clock has gone into it's frozen period at HH so we all wonder when the whistle is going to call FT but View pull out a back play for the ages from half way which culminates with the SIC Winger going in at the scoreboard corner to end the match. Chaos ensues with every man and his dog supporting the Blue & White entering the field in what was the first prem since 1996 when Willie Gordon seared the turf around him to come from nowhere to grab a chip kick to beat Joeys at the Swamp and wrap up the Prem.

Can't beat these clashes.

@Joker adding to this i believe that Shore's 2024 finish to beat Scots at bellevue hill is not talked about enough. Felix Harvinson charging down the halfback to get score the winning try, securing their first outright premiership in over 67 years, this is not talked about enough!

2018 had drunk old boys from the Gulag at HH storming the field to lay some hits on a few View schoolboys in the XV, when the post came down, nothing to be proud of there. It had had an affect on the players and the outcome. Pink & blue coloured glasses indeed.

2003 was a nail biter, great finish for View and 1996 was a breakthrough side.

Shore vs Scots 2023 finish was also legendary, Pinn (E) with the 40m+ drop goal to seal the win. Just incredible to witness in person.

Not much insights, I know Durbs was injured and missed out on SA. Perhaps not 100% there for Italy or maybe a shadow atm. Tonga not so sure.

His impressive confidence and magic in rucks is needed though, he was easily the best 7 and perhaps forward in the GPS last season.

I would almost say his small size benefits the way he plays, with his style proving very valuable to teams he has played for. His size hasn't stopped him playing well before, hence why I don't think he should (and hopefully won't) be shunned from team positions due to his size.

I think he can be fine due to his skills being different to those of bigger 7s. Same was said about Hooper when he was at the Brumbies initially.

Rugby is making an attempt to speed up the ball in play time which can benefit guys like Marshall as the bigger bodies struggle to keep up. Look at RL when they sped it up and dropped the interchange. We see the utility player back and smaller players thriving.

Hey Everyone, Sam Konstas Here!

3rd XV competition looks very tight this year with many strong teams running around at 1pm on each ground. Last round we say Joeys only just get the edge on TAS (who looked quite well drilled), Kings upset Scots at Bellevue Hill, Riverview beating Grammar and Shore beating SBHS.

Ill be sure to come back with team lists, news and reports from each week!

Up the Aussies,
Sam Konstas

Has been very impressive at norths this year - who knows where he will head but keep him in the forwards - we need sharp focused game management and MLM has that.
