After watching last week's trials and today's games, why didn't selectors pick the best players available? PONI is ridicules and some of the selections give a good indication as to why NSW and RA are in the state they are in. Just pick the best player for each position on current form. Some boys playing today and last week not making their schools 1st XV yet can get themselves selected for a blue jumper. Makes you wonder.........

Last year was less objectionable with the Academy games played in the winter break as well. This year the NSW Qld games were played in Feb/ March but only a handful put into PONI.
So the Schoolboys tournament is slightly stronger this year, but crazy the best players are just having a camp.

Anyhow NSW II with a HT 12-3 lead over QLD I, and an early 2H try to extend to 17-3.

Metcalfe (AUG) with a late well executed chip and catch to close it out at 22-3.
