Really don’t appreciate that mate. All i’m trying to do here is have a good conversation. I am not at all a troll, and I am quite offended that you would suggest that. The questionable touch judge work I referenced was when the Scots player made a break down the left side of the field and scored in the corner - the touch judge was 40 meters behind and there was no way he could’ve seen whether it was in or out.

I’m really shocked that someone from this community would talk to me like this. All my posts are rubbish? I am just trying to enjoy some good schoolboy footy as I have mentioned before.

Never mind this negative energy Crockpot. Love your work.

Can anyone back me up here? I think SonnyDill’s post about me was completely out of line. I am new to this thread, but it doesn’t take much experience to realise that calling someone a dropkick and a troll is not on. I am totally shocked and quite frankly upset. I thought this was a thread for talking about rugby, and don’t try to tell me you’ve never complained about the refereeing in a game.

If I were you, I would think of reining it in a bit. So far, from a moderating point of view, I would be inclined to agree with the assessment.

For those who enjoy checking on game results Here are the scores from June 1 at St Joseph's College.
I will try to post them up each week when I can.

Don't worry about the aerial ping-pong and soccer results, J, of no interest to anyone here.

Hello everyone just back from Kings

And another excellent game of Schoolboy Rugby between two well coached and very talented Sides. The score of 36-17 does not serve as a true indication of the Game. Yes, the score was 17-14 at half -time and New 'piled on three more tries in the Second Half. But Kings showed great skills, strength and speed throughout the game.

In fact, I would say Newington did more defending and was on the back foot, throughout most of the game. The problem for Kings was that they only came away two tries and penally, for all their efforts in obtaining possessiom and territory. The Kings attack was reflected in a well-drilled, methodical approach that was relentless. But their collective efforts just didn't get the points.

Newington on the other hand when they attacked reflected the complete opposite of Kings. New's attack was spontaneous, based on individual initiative and creative. An individual player "Out of the Blue" would suddenly make a break and the attacker was then, on his way to try line outpacing the defence. At least two tries came from well within their own half. Another, area that New showed dominance was in the mauls where they really took Kings "for a walk" as they moved the Maul by metres on one occasion. Kings were also was pushed around in the scrums on a number of times.

Yet, for all their brilliance in attack, it was Newington's defence that keep them in the game.Kings dominance in possession and the amount of their attacking forced New to defend for "Dear Life". And what a defence, they didn't panic under the immense pressure they were placed on and managed to swarm across in defence when Kings were on the attack. Last ditch tackling was very much the order of the day for New.

So a great victory for New, but you only get a great Victory when you beat a great team. Kings was such a great team today.

Only grounds without a cricket pitch anywhere on the playing surface qualify as a decent rugby ground. The Tahs matches at the SCG this year reinforced this criteria for me.

Scots can be an ice rink
Shore can be a bog
Riverview is known for poor water dispersion
Kings? They are not too bad I thought.

Joeys- Perfection
Newington- Good, best viewing conditions
High- Best cow paddock
Grammar- Best soccer field

Feel as though it is a bit much.

Experienced refs can make poor decisions but they have to make them with what they have. There is no “bunker” in schoolboy footy. We will see on video

Feel as though sonnydill is just trying to rock the boat a bit that’s all from my point of view.

TDO.

Hello everyone just back from Kings

Thanks for the report B & W, unfortunately I had to leave early to get to my daughter's sporting event.

I think that Joeys are the team to beat and on that basis I think that Newington are capable of beating Shore, Scots and Riverview in the last three games. I'm looking forward to watching as there's some great rugby ahead.

I'd like to compliment the Kings people on their very hospitable welcome today. I hope that everyone who visits Stanmore feels as welcome as I did at Kings today.

Great day of schoolboy rugby.

We were just talking about the Joeys surface over dinner. My son has played there two weeks in a row and complained about it being really slippery.

He wears plastic moulded boots. Do the Joeys boys wear long sprigs?
