Ok. That's all done. I am still chaisng scores for JoeysRugby. WTF? Brumbies? Thoughts and plaudits.
Me quickly, Joeys must focus all 70 minutes and not switch off. The back three, while deadly in attck, need work in defense.
The rest is up to you lads.

Hi Joker and Brumbiesrugby...Thanks for the updates during the day. How was the match quality wise?? This game was the first real opposition for the Barker side. I imagine Boerkman was immense. Quality player. How were the scrums given Barker was without 2 of their starting front row?

Bit of a stop start affair by Joeys, looked good early, had all the ball an field position and seemed to score at will, Barker to their credit never gave up and put on 19 points, quite a few while Gibbs was in the bin. Joeys scored early and seemed to be able to score when needed. A few subs came on so hard to make much of second half. O’Brien at 13 was dominant, They missed Gibbs’s organisational skills, O’Kane at 6 had a solid game as did Bokenham.

Newington 36 beat Knox 12

What a game,at one stage New only lead 19-12

The difference was without doubt the Newington Backline. Fast, stylish and precise in its support play, excellent in its ability to change direction and an ability to play the entire length and breath of the field with the ball in hand. The first try was a length of the field effort, where the New Winger caught from a Knox pass the ball and out run the cover defence.

Knox stayed in the game, with grinding forward play and two opportuntistic tries through their backs.Their pack put the New Pack under pressure, particularly in the setpiece.

Other games of Interest Knox won seconds10-5

16As KGS 12b NC 5
15As NC 27b KGS 5
14As KGS 17b NC 15
13As NC 38 b KGS 0

Knox as expected were excellent hosts and their Gala Day created an excellent atmosphere.

Was up at Riverview today with the New 15Bs.

Riverview won that encounter 22-13

16A game was on the next field and was won comfortably by Scots. I asked a couple of the boys the score and they weren't sure, but said it was 5 or 6 tries to nil (in favour of Scots). Apparently the first time that Scots had beaten Riverview in this age group.

most of the 2nd half at HH had uncontested scrums after a Barker prop was subbed off and replaced by a flanker. Very disappointing as Joeys scrum was dominant in the 1st half. James Leckie (ref) had no choice but to accept Barker's word that they had no suitable replacement - curious

16a was 26-0 to Scots a good result considering 3 boys are playing opens from the 16”s

They went into the game without the firsts, 2nds and 16A Hooker available, as well as one of the 1sts props. So they were already digging into the well at kickoff. Putting on a 3rd XV prop would probably have been dangerous in all honesty.

not suggesting any hanky-panky, noey, just that you don't expect such a shortage of props/hookers in the top grade. I must say that a certain Mr Pollard was conspicuously absent from the program.

All good - it was pretty unusual circumstances for sure

It was 45-7 to Barker. Barker missing two of the key forwards too.

why were Joeys 16As playing Oakhill 16As (they put 60 points on them) when Barker's 16As look to be the stronger team? As I understand it, the decision on who out of Barker and Oakhill plays the A side from Joeys depends on previous week's result between them. Did Oakhill 16As beat Barker 16As???
