Some kiwis, cant help you much more than that.
Not sure about Swanny.

Ah the loosies – they can have such a huge impact on the game, defence, attack, ball retention and Manly have been blessed in that area.

How many scrums and line outs in 10 phases of play = great rugby, and the loosies have a huge impact.

6. Bergo – As inside shoulder said ^^^^. Leading try scorer last year, and I’m sure the opposing teams are aware of his line out steals as well. Will no doubt back up another huge year.
6. Dombkins – I prefer him at six, but can play 8 & lock, formed part of the awesome 6,7,8 second grade.
6. Sig – lock or 6 adds plenty of depth in the loosies.
7. Ale – was his consistent best last year, and with the step up to the Rays proved how strong he is.
7. Daniels – not far behind Ale at all and formed a very potent 6,7,8 in second grade last year.
7. Alley – played at 8 most of last year, handy seven and only a couple of year back lock.
8. Manu – fully fit he will cause serious havoc – Jtrain no doubt getting him ready for a huge year.
8. Alley – spent alot of time in 1’s last year, but formed the potent 6,7,8 in second last year
8. Dombkins – preferred at 6 though.

New boys Croke and a couple of others i hear will no doubt keep competition very healthy.
Some colts stepping up will keep, I’ve seen some of them play and was impressed - hope they all come through.
Aust U 20’s in 3 Siotame Kavapalu a monster & spent plenty of time in 8 last year.
Ethan Uili was with the Waratahs academy last year and was awesome in the 2013 GF against Uni.
Vinnie Baranyi incredible talent and really looking forward to see him step up to grade.

Dave, who will play 9 and 10 this year? 10 always seems to be Manly's Achilles Heel particularly at finals time and now both experienced 9s are gone IIRC.

Halves
Yeah Swanny and Lucas have moved on, but Woods actually got club half of the year last year, Crerar was playing some good rugby, and there has been chat about Tim Donlan over the years but i am yet to see him play. I saw some 3rd grade last year and there was a young 9 as well who showed some talent.
Then at 10 the names I’m hearing are Lane, Hodge, VaeVae, Daruda, Chesters, and I’ve heard there is another 10 as well that has arrived.
Hoping i heard correctly - I reckon with Milroy involved in the coaching we could see the halves create some open attacking play.

The decision of Lucas to move on will be a bigger lose than people think. He was a stand out for the MMM's in 2014 and I don't think you can ask a young player to stand up to the week to week grind of the shute shield

Interesting that one - he would have been my first choice 9 but alas Swanny was kept in ones and he played like a robust loosie.

I don't doubt that he'll be missed but the other 9's will more than hold there own against most others in the comp.

Good news from RugbyReg's review of the Reds/Rebels trial:
  • Jordy Reid made a massive impact from the bench, really bringing a heightened intensity to the Rebels game around the ruck. He was a nuisance in defence and aggressive in attack and his introduction to the game was a real turning point.

Gut full of Sydney and wanted a weekend away – bit of rugby fun – why not head to Crescent.

Tidied up Tamworth.
A Fijian team from Canterbury played their brand of football that comes with not a lot of structure – game was always in control but a solid hit out.
Then Hawthorne – the hand-picked 7’s team from Newcastle area who dusted Sydney Uni in the first round. Played very well and accounted for them with a solid score line and great defence.
Then a team specialist 7’s team from QLD Tribe7 – hard fought came with Mitch Daniels crossing at the very end so we could scrape into the finals. Got this one even with 6 players on the park when the very young ref thought a physical clean out was too hard – and onto the Rats.

A Rats fan said our team wasn’t balanced, and didn’t have the pace – and they’d beat us “relatively easily”??
I was interested to see how we faired without Maile, Sef, Sig, Northam, & Chisolm.
Balanced – our defence patterns were spot on, and we almost went over on full time – then into extra time.
Golden Point and the Rats were first to score but it came from scraps that went to the boot and then a race to the ball (that pace – hey).
Denis brought spark, and Lane created options, and BJ was sweating on all opportunities – but it was the D and game plan that nearly carried us through – so yeah we were balanced.

What is good - we know we have pace in the cupboard.

Well a successful sevens series, and got the big one - Kiama.

Think is shows Milroy will develop into a very successful coach, no doubt he'll pull apart some teams this year and set some game plans.

Now the centres;
And yes Sef, and Maile are travelling the world, but still plenty of talent, and different skills.
12. Hodge, Greer, Treweek, Gilmore, Abrahams, Baranyi.
13. Dennis, Greer, and I hear Woodhouse, and R Squires will be back?

^^^ One thing that is known as a fact is that he won't be with the MMM's in 2015.

All will be revealed in 3 weeks time with Shute Shield round 1, although Wicks played the M2B at Merrylands last weekend in a trial, and the Corporation have their first trial against the Woodies this weekend (wicks vs Norths I think), so there may be some early confirmation based on trials.
