My post included the complete article.
It was in the historical feature ie 3 brief excerpts from today's date in 1912.

Checked the Sun Surf & Scrums book - Only won 3 games that year as well. No reference to this - wonder where it came from?

Palu and Gower return. Will make some players very unhappy in both top grades. A difficult situation to manage properly.

They are Manly players that are playing in the right grade though at the same time.
Ed's been playing all year, Cliffy is simply a super player returning.
Enables fresh reserves though which will be valuable.
I'm excited.

^^^^Forget about how good the Hairdressers looked @Dave Beat. How good was it seeing Wycliff Palu back on the Village Green? #GrassRootsWallabies #TakeThatSANZARJudiciary!

That try he scored - he needs to improve his fitness a bit more, he has to see if he can get through 80 next week before we'll release him;)

Another great display by the MMM's back line when they click watch out.
I must say the scrum look much more stable with the current front row Vaai , Hilterbrand , Lewis. They played against almost a super 15 back well done gents.
Where does the MMM's coach put Gower this week ??
A couple of selctions head aches this week.

What a game its going to be , the best 2 sides all year.

And yes DAVE , up the RAYS and the good luck to the Marlins this week.

One club - the 4th graders made the first graders stronger.
Selection headache??????? - only head ache this week will be Sunday morning - the club has finishing touches - no clocking off early.

Yeah the Marlins Forth Graders BOOM BOOM - great work today.

And the Boys;

1.Villi Vaka
One of the competition's most destructive ball-runners look for his subtleties in ball-playing.

2.Dane Le Rougetel:
Manly's 'Club Player of the Year' is also a PE teacher when he's not scoring tries or in the gym.

3.Jimmy Gentle:
Contrary to the name - if the skin-head doesn't give it away watch him during the game.

4.Carlos Plate-Stanley
Hailing from Paraguay look for his lethal pick-and-drives and powerful running game.

5.James Watson
A leader and backbone of the side 'Watto' picks apart opposition line-outs like a scientist.

6.Mark Watson
Gets through a mountain of work with his strong ball carries and bone-rattling defence.

7.Josh Littlewood
A 7 who genuinely 'Walks his Talk' and dominates the breakdown. Tough as anything but can mix it with the backs speed wise.

8.Manuel Castagnet
This Argentinian #8 is as scary as he looks. Playing through numerous injuries 'Manny' refuses to let his mates down.

9.Nic Smarty
Rugby Gods wrote the definition of a cheeky halfback and 'Smarty' oozes every word of it. Sharp around the ruck with a huge future ahead of him.

10.Cam Duffus
Mr perfectionist guides this team around with a calmness and his reliable left boot. The competition's top point scorer.

11.Scott Clemmett
Over 200 grade games and 99 tries. Need we say more?

12.Bergo
The 'Shiraz' gets better with age. This team's fearless leader - leaves the Club's Vice President tag when he walks on the field.

13.Diego Argana
The Captain of Paraguay's National Rugby team is explosive, hard hitting and lightning fast - causes havoc for opposition backlines. A celebrity back in his homeland.

14.Jack Eades
Forget the number on his back, "Wombat" is one of the hardest hitting players on the field - and always finds his way to the try-line.

15.Joe Eki Metuisela:
A wealth of experience 'Eki/Superstar' controls the game from the back with a calmness and touches of individual brilliance.
