I didnt see much of the 2007 season but I did see a few games where he played out of position at 7 while Waugh was injured and I thought he played pretty well. One game in particular against the Crusaders and McCaw springs to mind.

Could be a bit like Hodgson who has come into his own with a bit of maturity, a bit of play overseas and a coach who is able to give him confidence.

Surely Frier is a must for this team? No reason for him to stay at the 'Tahs with TPN and Fitzpatrick there.

Does anyone know much about Craig Wing's Japanese venture? Is he playing well? What position is he playing?

Surely he would be a good man for the Rebels to have. He wouldn't be amazing but he is a true team player who is adored by the media. If his price is reasonable, why not?

Wikipedia says he is playing flanker.... I hope something was lost in translation.

I don't know if he's actually played yet?

I think the timing of the seasons didn't work out so he's just been training with them?

When does their season start?

I read an article today about USA Captain Todd Cleaver having interest to play in australia, and i personally I think he would be a great buy for the melbourne team.

When watching him play for the lions i am very impressed with his athleticism and determination and that work ethic is something to be valued among a new team.
Waddya reckon?

If Elsom doesn't sign you would get Clever in a heartbeat. He strikes as a lesser, but still very good, Elsom.

Unless someone would teach him how to play lock. That would make me a very happy man.

Dan halangahu has signed with the waratahs to an upgraded 2 year extention.
Barnes signes with the waratahs also, To'omua and lealiifano are both rumoured to be staying at the brumbies.

Who the hell is going to play fly half for the rebels now? Cirpriani, then whos going to play fullback.

Team isnt looking the best so far. My biggest appreciation of the Rebels joining the competition is that it would free up great players who were stuck behind stars eg, To'omua, Lealiifano, and i guess u could say Beale now.

Pretty sure KB (Kurtley Beale) signed a 2 year deal last year taking him through to 2011, so he's out.

Can someone explain to me how the Rebels have already got 'verbal' agreements in place with Oz based players such as Kingi despite not being allowed to recruit until next week? Is the restriction on signed documents only? Seems ridiculous if that is the case.

He was hopeful the fledgling club could announce some signings when the ARU deadline on recruiting Australian-based players expired on Monday.

The Rebels have signed English utility back Danny Cipriani and have an agreement with back-up Queensland Reds halfback Richard Kingi.

Seems they have got the Bath forwards coach as well. Bath seem to like Oz coaches!

Interestingly I heard a rumour last night that the Reds preferred Ben Lucas to Richard Kingi and that is why Kingi has gone south. Can anyone confirm that Kingi has defs gone to the Rebels

I was under the impression they just couldn't announce any signings until the deadline but may be wrong. I think in the Kingi case the Reds would have been fairly accepting, given he was basically waiting for Genia to get injured to get a game. From everything I have read there has not been any formal announcement from the Rebels on Kingi to date.

Rod McAll was in the paper today effectively giving Kingi the Reds blessing to head south.

I think they should purely because he has such a great name.

Sounds suspiciously close to Theodore Cleaver aka the Beaver. :lmao:

Did find out his name is actually Todd Clever. Still good but for a different reason.
