NORTHERN hemisphere countries will not play Tests in Australia next year after a contentious ruling by the International Rugby Board.

But it doesn't say what that ruling was. Is it simply that NH Sides couldn't play down here before the RWC?

I am 100% against bringing him into union at this stage. He is simply a waste of money that could be spent elsewhere.

Inglis is a phenomenally gifted player both athletically and in terms of skill set, but so long as he hasn't proved he wants to play union, we shouldn't take him. Why waste money on a player who has world class talent, but no drive to play the game? Motivation is still 80% of a player's worth. If he wants to play outside of mungo, and in union specifically, then he can go over to France, or Japan, or into the Club system, and play until he shows that a) he can cut it in union, and b) he really wants to play.

Stuff him. Not worth the risk, and certainly will be demanding way too much money.

J O'N, remember you promised that the RWC03 surplus was for Grassroots rugby.

I'm still BBQing sausages at the same frenetic rate as I have always down to raise funds for the grassroots.

Haven't seen too much ARU largesse down where the Jarses play, watch, referee, administrate and support.

Don't waste any more of our hard earned $ on unproven mungos, EVER.

Grow our own talent FFS.

When the Junior Jarses heading off to workplace after school, they will be paid entry level wages until they prove they have the skills, experience and knowledge required for their chosen profession or trade.

If Inglis wants to come to rugby, pay him apprentice wages like the rest of the workforce.

The rebels should be chasing him. He will get people through the gate better than any other player they could find.
He already has an image in Melbourne and a strong following from the Storm supporters.
Get him on board and the number of Storm supporters who might just give this "Union game" a shot should increase dramatically.
If his signing gets 1000 Storm members to get the cheapest membership at the rebels for next year that is $180,000 straight up.
He is worth the risk on the finances alone.

Spot on Jon mate. Except Id like to see the Tahs have a crack cause Im a Tah's fan. If the kiwi's think they struck gold with SBW then what are we doing? Inglis has always been ranked as a better footballer than SBW. With his strength and power he'd run rampant in rugby and there'd be no question marks over his tackling ability. Unfortunately for Ashley-Cooper who's had a blinder this year I can see Inglis at No.13 for the Wallabies. Lucky AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is a utility player...

I retain my objection to him coming to union unless he's willing to do it for free, but if he did I'd be inclined to run him at 12 rather than 13.

So your saying that you doubt he could take his man on the outside but at the same time saying every play he drifts across to take on his man. Haha

If he gets his weight down that would be one of his strength's especially with his monster fend. He has also never been run down from behind and been stopped in league, ever.

GI has only been a bit tubby for half a season and he still tore up with the storm.
Dobbie you are 100% correct.
Anyone who says Inglis does not have the transferable talent to play Rugby is either:
1. jaundiced against Mungo, and lets their emotions affect their rational thought processes
2. A dumb fuck forward who does not understand what/how backs do their stuff.

however, his desire to succeed in Rugby and/or him being a "cultural fit" are definitely issues to be considered.

There is a groundswell on here that forwards seem to know all there is to know about rugby, and us backs are a waste of space. I'm grateful to have a forward help tip the balance back to the ignorants!
Just having a bit of fun, but you are joking, surely??

Cyclo; meh, you're just another back who spent too much time doing their hair instead of getting in amongst the dirty stuff. And see where too much playing with your hair has gotten you today!

I attribute the fleeing follicles to the few games I did spend in the pigs - really, a back should have a luxuriant mop of hair!
Trust a forward to miss the subtlety of my post!!!
Oh, sorry. A QLD forward!!
:) :)
Cheers mate, and a happy Xmas to you and yours!

Pffft, I saw my chance at a cheap shot and took it! Besides, that Number Eight probably spent most of his time in the centres. And whilst it is forwards (not backs, mind you) who know all there is to know about rugby, it's not all forwards that know it...

Merry christmas to everyone as well!

Very true Mr.Jarse, very true.

None of your logic is wrong but it can be debated. Whilst an entry level worker SHOULD be paid an entry level wage Inglis is more a man changing careers to a difference career that isn't the same, but does have many similarities. Then there is the media attention ect to factor in.

Basically, he has a right to ask above a base wage but he shouldn't have too many dollars thrown at him. What's too many? I have no idea but I'm sure the ARU accountants do.
