Auggies have a young prosepct in josh arundel developing through the ranks nicely. Josh is a huge second rower standing at 6'6 at just 15 and coming off the back of a massive pre-season with augs opens. Scouts say he is potenially the biggest 2nd row they have ever seen. Definately someone to look out for.

Reports are that Joe Walsh has signed with the Manly Sea Eagles. If true, it's another shocking loss for Rugby Australia, potentially losing the best schoolboy player in the country.

Obviously glad for the kid but Rugby AU have to pull their finger out and start retaining these good young players ...

SC Here. I'd like to take a moment to highlight Mitch Wood's performance in yesterday's U19 Origin game. Despite a rough start, throwing an interception on his first touch that gave QLD a major opportunity, Wood gradually found his rhythm. Once he did, he became a genuine threat in attack for the Blues. His kicking game in QLD's half caused significant trouble for the QLD back three. I’d rate his performance a 7.5/10 and believe this kid has a bright future ahead.

SC out

Believe the Dolphins also tabled an offer for the kid, however it's clear he wants to stay close to home. It's evident that league is really pursuing interest to bring in all the star schoolboys.

It would not surprise me seeing Walsh sign with a league club whoever that may be. Simply just much more money in the other code and that's what it's all about nowadays is making a living out of footy and simply Rugby AU just can not get on the level these NRL clubs are which is sad to see. It is happening in every school boy rugby comp unfortunately with young guns making the switch. Sad times for Australian Rugby

Isa u16s prediction
Auggies vs St pius: auggies by 20 surfboards
Oakhill vs Stannies: oakhill by 15+ biased country refs
gregs vs patties: gregs by 5+ newly reburished houses

Auggies and Oakhill will be too classy for Pius and Stannies and will both run away with it. gregs and patties will be a good game but gregs will be too physical for patties alongside the home feild advantage.

SAINT AUGS ACQUIRE SIFA 'FALE' OLDFIELD FOR U16s TERM 3 2024 from narrabeen sports high school finally making it out of the hood.
A young prospect in the making son of Ryan Oldfield and nephew to Canberra RAiders and Parramatta eels Michael Oldfield. This addition will surely give augs the edge over Oakhill in the u16s for 2024.

How many do they pick??? It might have been easier to list who didn't make it!

What is the point of the trial?

Also, if there are 2 teams, would that be 15 + 23 = 38 Players

And Oakhill hard done by with only 10 players... quietly going about their business while everyone pumps up Auggies. Auggies scrape past Waves and Knox while Oakhill had less trouble.
good motivation for Oakhill when play Auggies

In 2018 Scots had 9ish players in GPS 1sts and Riverview 4ish , Joeys had one

It was very satisfying to see Joeys beat both teams

Hopefully the Oakhill boys will use it to motivate themselves too

Ahhhh, one of RahRah's favourite sayings...

"The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime."

Auggies have gotten a player to play down from the 16s. Harry smythe, he plays fullback and after watching him against eddies in the first few weeks he is a player to be reckoned with. Potentially Auggies best player. Oakhill are also very strong. But with stannies star player and captain Tom Champion moving to Kings I think they have to be out of the mix. Pats were better last year but after a disapointing couple of trials I really can only be led to believe that it will end with Auggies and Oakhill.
Keep us updated. I heard pats beat Barker in trial

Auggies v Pius today has been cancelled.
Game will be postponed until a later date.
Unfortunate for the boys in blue and gold as they were pumped up for the game going in as the underdogs to try get the win. Sure they’ll be up for it come the postponed date.

Keep updates rolling on how the other 4 sides go today.
