I mean it's well known its the hardest position defensively and this is the pinnacle of the game. I'm not even remotely surprised a winger and part-time fullback got exploited at centre.

Sure he played there for the Rebels but he was bad at it. Says more about the Rebels.
But i wouldn't say he was exploited positionally, he was just utter dross into the contact

I'm not saying to bench the man, but we don't have to try and give players an excuse all the time. He was poor, and needs to lift against Ireland if we are to be any chance

Kellaway is hardly new to outside centre, and I've forgotten which game it was a couple of years ago he had to fill in there for the Wallabies and defended excellently...
Kellaway's defence has been an ongoing issue this year, strange given he's been such a consistent performer previously. Just seems to be going arms too often, or not in the right position at contact. So, not just when he was at OC in this game.

I thought I read that Nasser has been recalled to the squad - although I can’t find any confirmation now.

If it is correct that suggests to me Faessler is very doubtful.

If he is out I’d prefer Nasser on the bench to Pollard as he is stronger in the set peice.

Yes they announced that Nasser has joined the squad in the same post ruled Faessler out

What happened to Lonergan? I thought he looked pretty good in 2022 but havn't really seen him since.

Too small for Edward Jones and broke his leg earlier this year. Started against England A so with a good super season could be back in contention

Excited to have Nasser back and hoping he’s selected in the 23. For a smaller hooker I think he might be our best scrummager or possibly second to BPA.

Could Nasser have been called in as cover in case BPA or Pollard got injured in warm up vs Scotland? I’m just crossing my fingers in hope that Faessler is good to go. Although there’s been no news on him, whereas we’ve heard that Williams is recovering well from illness…

I think Schmidt will start Donaldson for this one, much tighter game than Scotland and being able to tackle in your channel becomes more important. Don't think Edmed will be on the bench but wouldn't object to it either.
