Glad I put in my selections early on the Tuesday before last weekend's matches, as was travelling etc, a podium finish in the weekly GGR comp 2nd week in a row! Now 35th in that comp overall, after being like in 165th position few weeks ago!
Holding the wildcard back til few weeks has been vindicated although still made couple of bad selections who didn't get to play that weekend in question.

Hard to work out how the stats for scoring relate to how well a player actually plays.I had Speight and most said he was close to MOM,but scored 4 points! Also half backs continually score low.I had White, with Ellis on bench, but both were in single figures.Luckily managed 477 pts with Carter's 75 helping. Why didn't I make him captain??

As this is basically the last opportunity to gain any ground (I assume teams for the Final are going to look extremely similar), I have tried to go for a few slightly strange selections, at least according to the "Teams Selected %" stat:

Sio/Franks
Ralepelle
Whitelock/Retallick
Spies/Read/Todd
Hougaard
Carter
Crotty/Serfontein
Marshall/Guildford/Tikoirotuma

Bench: Tameifuna, Elliott, Clarke, Fardy, White, Lilo, Aki, Masaga

May tinker a bit yet, and got some cash left over if there are injuries etc. Still trying to break into the overall top 1,000 - I'm sat at 1,083!

Johnnie Wallace (23)
7th in GGR
203rd overall

This is my first draft - expect a lot of changes

Manu Franks
Moore (C)
Retallick Whitelock
Read Mowen Messam
Kerr-Barlow
Carter
Serfontein Aki
Marshall Mogg Nanai-williams

Any suggestions?

namtrak Manu isn't even on the bench, better locks than Retallick available, Fardy over Mowen, Hougaard is Mr Consistent, Aki on the bench, Nanai-Williams not playing, Mogg is captain inconsistent.

Thanks RoffisKing I saw Manu/TNW/Aki are no go.

Questions re the others though

I think Fardy could be a good call

I haven't seen Vant Leven play, is he likely to get 80 minutes at number 8? I do like Retallick as a point of Difference player as he scored well last year and he's been injured this year.

Mogg scores quite a few tries from kick returns and I reckon he's gonna get a lot of opportunity to run the ball this week

Yeh Hougaard could be worth a guaranteed 15 or so

Fardy has a high average with a good deviation. So long as the Bulls don't build a gameplan around taking him out, he'll do well.
Vant Leven is an up-and-comer atm, might even take the 8 for his own at this rate. I'd say he is at least 60, but probably 80.
Mogg is clearly being told to kick by the coaches. Unless that ends, he won't be getting tries, and White has come out saying the Brumbies won't be changing their plan.

Scrum halves suck this year. Hougaard is best of a bad bunch, so take a mildly above average lock ahead of the best scrum half :p

Looks like you and me are going up or down together. Todd and Anscombe are our only diversions.

Anscombe.

 oh not another choice to think about!

I see he's in your team, but he's not kicking, hence my preference for Steyn... Anscombe is clearly a try threat, but so is Carter and you're presumably backing the Crusaders' backs to perform much better than the Chiefs' given your other selections. So is Anscombe really a better option?
