My team this week is:

P: Slipper, Ta'avao (B Franks)
H: Ged Robinson (c), (Moore)
L: Pyle, Simmons (Bernado)
BR: G Whitelock, J Englebrecht, Coetzee (Labuschagne)
HB: Mathewson (White)
5/8: Lealiifano (Catrakalis)
C: JOC (James O'Connor) (vc), Horne (R Ebersohn)
OB: Folau, Foley, Piutau (B Smith)

Betting big this week on the Tahs after drafting Horne in at centre and leaving Ben Smith on the bench to start Foley.

I like the look of taavo, Slipper on the bench though this week. Coetzee is a lot of money for someone out of form. Im also thinking of running with the Waratahs this week.

Thinking of rolling the dice on Tamati Ellison and Julian Savea. I think both are under pressure and both have a point to prove. Although Savea has been out of form, and Ellison is quoted as saying he needs to try and not do too much :(
Thoughts?

namtrak - bench Slipper for Franks due to Slipper starting on bench. I actually transfer Savea, has provided me plenty of points though I won't bring him back until I see him really run the ball and get involved in tackles.

Finally a round over 400 again - took me 3 weeks! My team for the round comes out as:

B. Alexander (BRU), A. Ta'avao (BLU) / J. Slipper (RED)
G. Robinson(c)(REB) / H. Elliott (CHI)
H. Pyle (REB), B. Thorn (HIG) / L. de Jager (CHE)
W. van der Walt (KIN), G. Smith (BRU), L. Braid (BLU) / P. Labuschagne (CHE)
J. Vermaak (BUL) / C. Reinach (SHA)
C. Lealilifano (BRU) / A. Cruden (CHI)
J. O'Connor (REB), F. Saili (BLU) / R. Ebersohn (CHE)
B. Foley (WAR), J. Tomane (BRU), T. Marshal (CRU) / F. Halai (BLU)

My transfers were:
T. Mitawarir (SHA) out for A. Ta'avao (BLU)
G. Whitelock (CRU) out for G. Smith (BRU)
R. Kahui (CHI) out for J. O'Connor (REB)

Waratahs players are a good bet against the Kings but in honesty the 'Tahs players I wanted from the team were all up against solid opposition numbers so thought better of it.

Also, Cruden on bench is shitting me as he is worth too much $$...he's out next week unless he can perform but with Anscombe kicking I doubt that.

Enjoy the weekend of Rugby!

Yeh I was letting the previous know about Slipper

Thinking about it a bit more I probably have 4 options at centre that I considering, in order

Ellison
Smith
Serfontein
and now Treeby

I had been thinking that Smith and Serfontein may end up neutralising each other this week - which leads me to leaning towards Savea, whom I think will get a bit of ball because of Steyne's kicking game.

I guess it becomes a toss-up between Treeby and Ellison as both could go off early with injury, and if one does go off the other will get a full 80 minutes.

So I traded in Slipper this week without actually confirming he was starting. Given that he's on the bench, maybe I'd be better off saving that transfer until next week and retaining Ta'avao and B Franks as my props (the prop I traded out was Owen Franks).

If I reset my transfers and don't trade in Slipper, what do people think my most glaring problem in my team is?

A better backrower for Coetzee? - if so who?
A better lock? - aside from Luatua, is there a better lock?
Halfback?

I swapped in George Smith as a backrow - seems to be consistently in form and puts out a good 30 points per game. I just know he'll have a cracker playing against those Kiwi's (no doubt his arch nemesis).

Lock - I have taken Thorn in and have been solidly suprised. I realise he's not scoring as well as Luatua though Highlanders vs Sharks, he will be right in the f***ing mix and should have a cracker! I just pray he is used a lot in the lineouts!

Halfback - with Reinach out I'm keeping Vermaak on. He has on and off weeks but in total is doing great for the season. Bulls at home to win over the 'Canes should give him a good haul. Yet to contradict myself I realise the TJ Perenara is a gun and will likely smother Vermaak. So, Perenara, Vermaak or McKibbon this week. I think Genia and Mathewson will kill each other and end up with little points.

Thanks for the article on the Blues with the Flu(es).

If I were to transfer in a form lock, it would be Romano without a doubt.

Braid DuPreez are pretty consistent

Romano has a bit of form

Halfback? Ive got Genia but only because all the halfbacks seem to be scoring low in Fantasy, eventhough they are having good games. I will probably dump him for a cheaper option when I need some more $$$

TBH Im holding onto Luatua and Piutua because I am taking a couple of risks elsewhere, so I figure while Im doing okay I'll keep playing the percentages. My risky moves this week are Taavo in for Slipper, Ellison in for Ebersohn and ....................wait for it............................Savea in for Foley!!!!!!!

Thanks for the tips. Ended up bringing in Luatua instead of Simmons and kept Messam and ditched Coetzee.

My team is now:
B Franks, Ta'avao (O Franks)
Robinson (Moore)
Luatua, Pyle (Bernado)
Messam, Engelbrecht, G Whitelock (Labuschagne)
Mathewson (White)
Lealiifano (Catrakalis)
JOC (James O'Connor), Horne (R Ebersohn)
Piutau, Foley, Folau (B Smith).

Plenty of 'Tah's in the backlines I see, with good reasoning.

Anyone else noticing they have a lot of excess cash in fantasy this year? Must be a new era of debtants coming through as I have about 5 players under $150k each. Last year if I recall nearly all decent players were up near the $350-$400k mark!

...or maybe my management has improved...

Don't I get to keep the spare cash at the end of the season?

Anscombe on my bench!

Commiserations Bairdy, I put Anscombe in the XV at the last minute, but dropped Retallick and Cane. If Romano continues his good form I won't suffer too badly, but still feeling quite foolish.

I feel aggrived because I delayed my transfer of Pyle in for Whitelock to next week, and he scores 80!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brutal. First one to hit the 80 mark this year I reckon - Toomaga-Allen was in the high 70s recently.

I hope everyone is having a good chuckle at the fact that the current top scorer likely hasn't looked at his team in weeks as he has only made 8 transfers total. As a result, he has several injured and benched players in his XV, but has Pyle, Retallick, Higgers, Cane, Anscombe as his bloody captain, JDV, and Nanai-Williams! Sometimes it feels like a monkey throwing darts to pick an XV would beat all of us who pore over the stats and carefully make decisions...
