Just saw the race. Union Respect. Wish there were some soccer players there so they could have beaten them as well though..

yeah, I had to laugh that the media was suggesting that GI was an ultimate athlete/fast sprinter.

mind you, that Nathan Gardner would make a handy fullback in Union. Very gutsy player. And fast.

yeah. I don't watch much league - I'm just a poor Sharks tragic. But I've heard good things about Dugan.

I think Gardner looks up to Dugan as the sort of guy who's a few steps ahead, and kind of where he wants to be next year. If the Sharks are still around.

But yeah, gutsy player. He got taken out in the air by two Roosters players, in a really nasty looking tackle. Gardner lay still for a while, sat up, shook his head, got up, kept playing. He's a tough lad.

Yeah it was an interesting race - Hayne and Grant were quicker out of the blocks but Turner's top-end pace was amazing. I have to say having someone like G.I in there was ridiculous when the likes of Billy Slater weren't.

Lane 1 John Grant
Lane 2 Jarryd Hayne
Lane 3 Greg Inglis
Lane 4 Lachie Turner

I'm hearing Grant is training with the Sevens squad. Not for Delhi though.

Was on Ten's OneHD sport channel, and it was a terribly amateurish broadcast. How's the pushing between the announcer and the Neil bloke trying to interview Turner?

considering Grant was the top tryscorer in the Shute Shield and he's now the "second fastest man in football" according to gatorade, affiliated sponsors, the daily telegraph and the NRL who drummed this up as a choice between Greg Inglis and Jarryd Hayne, its a shame that no one has picked him up.

I think rugby has the bragging rights on which code has the best athletes. Earlier in the year on the Rexona Australias Greatest Athlete James O'Connor beat Billy Slater in the 40m dash.
