My thoughts exactly. Donaldson would be a good fit at 10 for that backline.
Not sure I agree. I think the coaches have this one right.

Donaldson and Ikitau have much less playing time together than Lolesio and Ikitau. Not to mention that Donaldson whilst having moments hasn't shown with any of his opportunities that he is a cut above Lolesio.

Disagree Molman. Given the 20 plus Tests at starting 10 Lolesio has had, I‘d say Donaldson with that amount of experience would be better… he’s just been chopped and changed without any continuity… a luxery Lolesio has had. Joe obviously sees something in Noah… he lacks any real ability to set an attack imo. I wish all the boys well v the Poms and hope we shock the critics… big call I know… but it is a two horse race..

We have enough body of evidence from watching Donaldson in SuperRugby to say he isn't ahead of Lolesio. The coaches would have even more data and insight to backup their decision, not to mention the combinations I mentioned above.

I think some players stocks are higher for not playing and there is this perpetual hope that making a swap is suddenly going to change everything.

Anyway, Donaldson will likely get his chance in this game, so it's his to prove me wrong :)

I don't reckon he's a dud and obviously none of the networks that have employed him since his illustrious playing career finished think he's a dud either.
But I miss Gordon Brays informative and colourful commentary very much.
I assume that Horan is still an amateur. Only possible explanatioin

Fair enough…too biased for me …and states waffle.. Turinui is the best on Stan easily….but they both are a million miles from the commentator Bray was… great players, which Horan was, don’t always make great commentators…just look at poor old Sonny Bro Williams… he out duds Horan…

Turinui is the best of our current bunch, agreed.
I have no idea why Sonny Bill got a gig. It's embarrassing.

His first ever gig for the Lions 11 years ago wasn't great, but I actually don't mind Matt Burke as a presenter and he has a good rugby head plus a bit of wit. I've had a beer and chat with him on the odd occassion, seems a pretty genuine bloke. He finishes up at 10 at the end of the year, I reckon he's worth a shot for Stan now that he has that experience under his belt.
