His first ever gig for the Lions 11 years ago wasn't great, but I actually don't mind Matt Burke as a presenter and he has a good rugby head plus a bit of wit. I've had a beer and chat with him on the odd occassion, seems a pretty genuine bloke. He finishes up at 10 at the end of the year, I reckon he's worth a shot for Stan now that he has that experience under his belt.
Definitely…. He’d be great.

I think there is some merit in keeping guys like Bray involved, the nostalgia evokes a happier time.

Commentators often get some unfair bias due to the circumstances of the teams they’re calling.

In the same way we remember average players more fondly if they were part of a winning team, and good players more poorly if their team sucked, the same goes for commentary teams.

Guys like Marto and Kearns were actually pretty entertaining but they quickly became the bane of rugby as the Aussie teams started to really decline in the mid 2010s. Their voices then became echo chambers for all the issues we had.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to say Harrison is a good commentator, but I’m also conscious he hasn’t had much to cheer about.
