Think you're referring to the Schalk Burger try for Saffies to retain the lead after England caught up 20-20.

Just saw the replay of the try in question, had the AR done his job, he would have advised obstruction by Saffies to the referee.

Burger was given the ball at the end of the maul by Marcel Coeztee who proceeded to peel off the maul completely with Burger still attached to him. Coeztee only needed to move forward a couple of metres with only air in front of him and then into a couple of defenders to make way for Burger behind him to plant the ball.

Isn't that a truck and trailer situation? The AR had full view of it and should have taken action!

And the one maul they started from a lineout 20 metres out, where the whole backline joined when the maul before the lineout was over, when they were supposed to be 10 metres <-- that way, not offside, like they were, which resulted in a try in the end.

Also, the Habana catch when his foot was out, and they gained 30 metres plus, and gained possesion that wasn't supposed to be theirs to begin with, which was a play they scored another try from eventually, when we should have had the ball in their territory.

Oh, and as a bonus, the fact that Matfield was sent off, which was fair, as they were warned, after an official warning to BOTH sides, and Lawes coming in from the wrong side, clearly deliberately, and only getting a penalty only 5 minutes later, where surely the blanket warning was still in enforcement. Where was that yellow card?

I wouldn't have mentioned these things, but since we're nitpicking, we might as well bring up every incident that was questionable.

I haven't read the thread from during the match, but I thought Walsh was very lenient at the breakdown, particularly early in the match.

He seemed to allow players to compete for the ball well after the ruck had formed and particularly allowing players to have a second bite at winning the ball which should never happen. The player might have arrived before the ruck has formed, but if they're not on the ball immediately or are pulled off it, they can't go back because at that point there is a ruck.

It was also about 4:30am when I was watching and I was sick as a dog so potentially my judgement wasn't right on the money.
