4 out of 8 3rd grade colts teams have losing records with West Harbour only winning 4 out of 14. A rethink of the finals needs to occur when only 10 teams are in the competition.

Souths forwards gave a solid first half performance. Second half Wicks came out with more fire and determination stepping up play another level and scoring three quick consecutive tries. The vocal Randwick Supporters seemed to play a part in the win. A great afternoon of rugby.

I want to acknowlege the Coaching team at the Two Blues Colts program. In 2012 we fielded only 1 grade and finished last. Only 4 players from that team backed up this year. So virtually from scratch, Steve Tuckwell and his team have built a program based on discipline, camaraderie, hard work, team spirit and communication that sees all 3 grades qualifying for the semi finals. No matter what results are like from here, it's a phenomenal effort. Nearly all plyers will be eligible to play Colts again next year and the interest from 16 and 17 year olds in the District suggest our numbers will be even stronger in 2014. That's got to be good for Rugby.

Congrats on great effort, Parra.
What was the key to the success, getting a bunch of 16/17 yrs together is like herding cats?

We had 3 core groups from Oakhill College, the Parra under 17s and the under 18 players from Hills, Dundas, Merrylands, Rooty Hill and Blacktown that were looking for more than subbies. We called them to a meeting in October and told them there was no room for Rock Stars or anyone who wanted to be paid, but if they wanted to be part of the rebuild of a great club they were welcome. That was followed up by structured training sessions and equal opportunity for all. Most of all the coaches promoted team over self and one or two boys spent time in a lower grade or on the sideline if attitude or discipline was not to standard. Before long the new team spirit emerged, encouraged by the grade guys who welcomed opposed sessions against the colts. Guys like Tom Woods, Sosene Anese and Andrew Cox from first grade spent time with their Colts counterparts and developed club culture. The thing has been a whole club effort, but without the drive of Steve Tuckwell and his coaching group and a bunch of talented and committed good young blokes, we wouldn't have been so successful so quickly.

What a great story! The development of team, over the individual can never be underestimated, nor can the impact that 1st grade contact with colts players! A truly magnificient effort by the 2 blues!

Manly backline is at its most formidable this week - Natoli, Hodge , Northam, Foketi ,Squires,Fakai,Howard .

Oh and a few forwards will try and win just an even share of possession for them - O'Connor, Carolan, Brand, Philip,Lloyd,Dombkins,Uili and Baranyi

Parra/Wicks/Manly are all hovering around the .500 mark. Nothing wrong with that. leave the format alone - special things happen in the finals series.

You do realise only 2 teams didn't make the semi finals. I thought the semi finals were for the elite not the also rans.
