I understand RH and Gnostic you guys like to talk about "worldwide searches" etc, but you'll find people are more likely to want to work in their home town than travel across the world. A great role doesn't have as much appeal if you think the place is a c**t of a city. You still have to live there every day.
I grew up in Sydney, and have spent a lot of time in Qld and Brisbane, as well as Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide. Never been to Darwin and my brother lives in Perth.
Barring Darwin (which I can't hold a really valid opinion of but will hold an invalid one anyway ((I hate the humidity and Rockhampton was more than enough for me in summer)) Brisbane is the best city in Oz, hands down.
The point is I don't think anybody would have a massive issue being attracted to live in Brisvegas. If they did I don't think they are really serious about being a professional rugby coach, in the Southern Hemisphere at least.
I am not so much a world wide search person, as somebody who believes in the integrity of process achieving the best outcome. Flawed processes with "old boys" networks and closed searches to narrow criteria results in situations like the Reds are in now and that the Wallabies were in with Deans.
