I wonder how long Fainga'a is out for because I don't thin replacing Hooper with Vaea helps in these kinds of games..

Anyways, pretty happy with that same XV to start next week...

I thought Hooper had a very solid game tonight, his mobility was outstanding, contest at the breakdown excellent and defence top notch. Certainly one of the better Brumbie forwards.

That game plan is pure Jake White and in truth it plays to the Brumbies strengths; but there has to be a bit of dessert to go with the meat and potatoes.

I would think that would come with experience and confidence. They have a lot of the ingredients.

A bit more patience is what is needed. They tend to fluff it when it's building up nicely and the space starts to come.

The pack is what is really exciting. A good balance between grunt and athleticim.

Fardy is 100% a Jake White kind of player. He likes big blokes that carry it up and make tackles. What a good player. Having said that I still think they need someone who can break the tackles "straight up" to help Moore carry it in close but maybe I am being pedantic.

The Brumby's are starting to build a group of "go to men". With White they will have structure and be fit as anything. Look out.

Sorry guys, for me it was yet ANOTHER snore-a-thon involving an Aussie side. Really surprised the Chiefs skill execution level dropped to the level of the Brumbies.

I went to the Tahs v Force 2 years ago at SFS. Was without a doubt THE most boring night of my life.........I fear for the game tomorrow night!

I thought it was very entertaining, can't please some people I suppose, no one gave the brumbies a chance and they were unlucky not to take at least a draw.
Brumbies frustrated the chiefs with hard work great D, and will win many more than predicted.

Brumbies grew as a side this week, you can see the teamwork building well. Rapt for them to do so well against one of the lightning rod teams of the comp.

As for snore-a-thon, I like flowing rugby as much as anyone, but I have been loving the gutsy battles we have seen from some of the games lately. Also very encouraging to see Aussie sides showing an ability to go toe to toe in scrums and breakdowns.

For the 20 mins Vaea was on he was also impressive. Vaea though is an damn good No 8 and it would be stupid not to use him as such. Move mown to 6

Although such a move could be harsh on Scott Fardy. His only mistake was not grounding that ball and has been very impressive in the past two matches.

How do you relate a game played 2 years ago by two totally different sides to the one played tonight?

Personally, and many of the pundits on the boards here, feel the game tonight was quite enthralling. I would love to hear your reasons as to why you thought the game was a 'snore-a-thon'.

I smell troll. Either that or someone who thinks that tries are the only way to judge the entertainment factor in a game of rugby.

Vaea does some good things, he is a very good player, but 7 no way. I can't think who I would play him in front of, Mowen and Fardy much harder working, and Kimlin should stay in 2nd row. I think he is an impact bench player until an injury happens

That entier games was destined to end up the way it did for either team...
Does SB even know how to take the ball to the ground. Some of his sly passes are crackers but are also the best part of his game in Rugby. And his perfect 1950's combover hair style. Maybe thats why he doesn't go to ground.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I thought Jesse Mogg was bloody outstanding. Great positioning, kicking and showed some good evasive skills. Scott fardy, Noodles and Mowen, plus Lealiifano (minus a few bloopers) and Andrew smith I thought all enhanced their reputations.

The Brumbies were good. I was worried they would get belted

The scrum was very strong and the Chiefs were surprised

The Brumbies have outstanding structure, each player knows his role and there is a clear strategy for each position on the field. They also countered at times which means they are encourgaed to attack when it is "on"

This is outstanding coaching. cf Western Force and the bungling RG who believes his own b'sh1t to such an extraordinary degree that he is heard to say his bumbling team who were belted by a jet lagged team with no ball "were tactically spot on"

Well done Brumbies. Very unlucky to lose

Isn't it great to see an Australian pack mauling it 30m upfield with rolling mauls and splinter mauls
A strong scrum and a massive blindside flanker smashing his way upfield. White is not only good for the Brumbies, he will be good for Australian rugby.

We might get a harder edge than the flop and ruck and run rubbish that all Australian teams churn out

How do you judge the entertainment of a game that doesn't exist? The Tahs played the Force in Perth in 2010. It was definitely a bore-a-thon. The only thing more boring would have been showing up at an empty SFS and wondering why nobody was playing.

Um so the the fact that he stepped in and smashed the 8 position last year and that he was rookie of the year for the brums makes him an impact-on-the-bench- player - you must need glasses !

Overall, very impressed with the Brumbies. Many were tipping the chiefs (who look like one of the stronger NZ teams this year) to steam roll them.

The boys were aggressive, structured and fit - a very solid base, and quite different to last year.

Others have covered the game enough - one thing I will say is kicking and catching practice - more needed! Lealifano dropped some relatively easy balls - my father who is an AFL fanatic couldn't believe a guy with so much skill and talent could approach catching a ball so poorly.

Mogg will wear yellow before too long - an untapped talent.

Both side deserve credit for the exciting finish but in the end the Chiefs derserve the result for the way the way they fought back after the Brumbies drew level shortly before the end.
