2025 Opens Rugby off season program underway at Knox, by application/invitation only (only a limited numbers doing the program full time as their summer sport choice, some only allowed to do part time and have to do another sport....)

not questioning a thing in regard to integrity - surprised Bears are handing out a "multi year deal playing SG Ball" prior to a player gaining Harold Matts or highest level (NSW u16s) Union accolades....

Not sure about the legitimacy of this, sg ball ages are u18 ,u19 with an u16 player being in the harold matt’s age group.

Is this for the 1st XV. If so very surprising current premiers Barker are listed last as most of their team this year was year 10 and 11. Knox that far down is extremely surprising aswell as many of this years 1st and 2nd XV were players in years 10 and 11. Not too sure if this is a biased post but could I have some backstory behind ranking those teams so low.

I believe as ive said in the past that Aloys are looking strong next year. A couple of boys that made gen blue in the younger ages r coming up. I dont like barker so that was biased but i do feel knox wont crack the 3. Cranbrook are looking very strong and will compete for the first time in a long time. Waverley looking strong as always

Yes Mule,

I have heard from a very reliable source the following, using Waves as the case for 2025.

Waves will play Joeys and Scots as the first 2 trial games. So the number of trial games in term 2 will be reduced.
Then the 1 full round of CAS will occur, and finish by the end of term 2. So a CAS winner will eventuate.
Rep teams will then be selected ( which makes good sense after a full CAS and trials season) and play GPS, ISA etc.

Term 3 the top 2 CAS and ISA teams will play each other, I think resulting in a GF as the final game (not 100% sure though).

Sounds smart to me, it doesn't resolve the imbalance typically across the CAS schools but I assume, given it's tradition, it isn't something that can easily be resolved, and maybe it shouldn't be, as long as injuries don't increase because of the size/capability differences.

Choosing the CAS rep teams after the full competition is spot on imo.

I think this may even make SNORT smile tbd!

Does anyone have any information about this Trinity 14/A side. Not very aware of CAS Rugby but I have heard the are the future of the sport.

I was at the Waverley vs Trinity 14s game as my son normally plays in the Waverley 14A's side but had a season ending injury 3 games in.

The Trinity 14As side is quite impressive and have size and speed and whilst they did catch Waverley on an off day, they thoroughly deserved the win and I don't think Waverley would've won regardless.

They have a couple of gen Blue players in that side and Michael Ennis's son also plays for them.

This was the first time Waverley had lost for quite some time - they were undefeated in prep 1sts rugby, 13A's and up to this match in the 14's.

There is already alot of talk that over the next 4 years these 2 sides will go head to head with the winner of this match winning the CAS that year. So far its 1-1. Next years game will be epic.

Trinity 14A's side definitely the future of the sport at that school.

Will be interesting if Trinity can keep the team together and not end up, up the road if you get my drift. Good to hear.

Hopefully they can as there is a noticeable difference in talent in the lower grades.
