Predictions for the weekend?
whilst barker are red hot favourites going into this match i wouldnt be surprised is somehow the aloys boys find a way to upset the competition favourites. Ive said before that i think there will be a few upsets this year and i could see one coming from this fixture. Although barker will have to have an off day for this to happen and that just hasnt looked like happening, so im picking either barker to run over them all day and win by 40+ or a miracle happens and aloys just scrape past the boys in red in a close one.

Although Cranbrook will be fired up at home, Waverley have looked too strong in recent weeks to go down now. I have high expectations for the quality of the game and expect it to be close. I think Waverley will win by one or two tries but a strong showing from Cranbrook will keep the scoreline pretty close all game.

From what I've heard, Knox were hammered with injuries last week, some that will keep players out for a while. Based on this information I'm going with Trinity. Having seen them both play and being disappointed by the quality that both teams have bought for a 70 minute match, I would say that there is not much separating them at this stage, however the loss of some of their key players may cost Knox the match and put them alone at the bottom of the table.

Can anyone confirm if there were a few Knox boys who came out of last Saturdays fixture with Waverley with injuries that are going to keep them off the field at this stage?

Mate, get some sleep.looking at his default avatar, he is male.unless 'she' was telling fibbies at sign-up!
Haha thanks for the concern. I'm actually jet lagged having just got back from the UK, i figured there would be no better way to kill time than to talk footy!.. And yes, as eshayz clarified, I was suggesting that YR was an acronym for "yeh red" rather than being a persons initials... But back to the footy!

I think it would be safe to say that Barker will have quite a comfortable win over aloys this weekend given the results so far. That said, I would not overlook the possibility of an upset. My thoughts are Barker by 15+ though given that they average a 34 point lead in the CAS competition so far (having played against Cranbrook and Knox who are no pushovers).

Now my real interest for this weekend is Trinity and Knox. Both are actually good sides. Yet both are on 2 losses from 2 games. Should one of these teams find their form (though they'd have to do it fast!!) they could potentially take the title from the grasp of Barker/Waverley (a fixture I'm also looking forward to). Now, the significance of this is that these 2 teams are actually presented with a great opportunity, and that is to remove the threat that the other imposes almost entirely. I think that many would agree, given the history of the 2 round CAS fixture, that it would take a miracle to come back from 3 losses from 3 games to even pose a threat to the competition leaders (something that both these teams have the potential to do). Therefore, a lot rides on this fixture for both schools! This will be the toughest pick all season, given both teams are experiencing similar form and both teams are quite evenly matched in talent. However, I'll have to go with Knox on this one. They've played the 2 best teams in the competition, whereas Trinity recently lost to an Aloysius side that had just come off the back of being smashed by Cranbrook. I predict Knox by <7. One thing I must concede is that Knox haven't really displayed any cohesion in attack. Managing only 1 try from 2 games is a huge concern and must be a big blow to their confidence. This is of course completely different when one looks at Trinity, who have the totally opposite problem given they average a score of 20 points a game but have lost both. You need to be able to score to win a game though, so Knox will need to lift in attack this weekend for my prediction to be true.

As for the Cranbrook vs Waverley fixture - if Cranbrook are as injury ridden as is suggested on this forum then I don't see them causing an upset. I'd predict Waverley by 15+.

After seeing the barker cranbrook game on the weekend, id have to say i wouldn't be suprised if waverley were to win comfortably at bellevue hill. Although cranbrook will have the home ground advantage, the game v Barker resulted in many injuries. The side already had De Lorenzo, Swanborough both second year players on the sideline, aswell as the fly-half and second rower from the win over aloys. On top of this Summerhayes an NGS and NSW player came off with a knee injury as well as borkowski with what looked like shoulder problems, and the fill in 10.
With Waverley having no suspected injuries, plus rolling a solid knox outfit.. looks like waverley will win.

One thing i would say right now that GPS has over CAS that makes it so much more entertaining to follow and in turn, produces better quality footy is the evenness of the competition. This year escpecially it is impossible to pick a winner.

Dear 10to12,
Besides maybe Barker but even then that is pushing it. Name one CAS school that would even challenge a GPS school full strength.
Dear GPStyle,
Perhaps you should stick to the GPS thread instead of trolling in here. I might need to see if my ban button still works.

Mate the GPS competition hasn't started yet. In your mind it might be very close and even but please lets wait and see. As for their outstanding level I seem to remember over the last few years quite a few teams were unable to compete against CAS and ISA teams. Aw gee I forgot they were only trial games so they don't rate. Goose!!

I honestly didn't mean to stir anyone up in this forum. I went to Knox from years 7-10 and i loved every minute of it. CAS was once a great compeition and in relation to my first comment im just worried that GPS is getting further and further ahead. Therefore, i follow it more so than CAS. Also because i went to View for my last 2 years at school ;)

Listen to yourself. No TAS , High or Grammar. Others in the comp are raping and pillaging the elite rugby players to get a !st 15. Sounds like a good business plan to me.Its schoolboy rugby .

The GPS Rugby arms race. Related to a different thread, but several of the boys named today in the ISA rep team were heavily encouraged to change their education provider in the off season by certain schools associated with another sporting association which is not CAS.

The AAGPS Arms race is not particularly healthy for the GPS itself let alone the fall out that it causes to the CHS, ISA, and SJRU competitions in particular and CAS comp in general.

GPS - Gay Pin Suckers. (I'm tired it's all I had.)

anyway Footy.

Knox Trinity will be close, but my predictions are that Knox won't Bare to be bottom of the table again like last season. I think they'll find their form against this evenly matched trinity team. As they'll be tested to work harder together for the win, rather than just to work hard to at least try and stop Barker or Waverly running over them.
very close game I predict. Knox by 7

Seriously GPS , just f*ck off ... As you can see , no one really cares or likes you here , so just don't bother replaying again.

Anyways , back to the main and only reason of this thread :

Agree with Eshayz! It's will be a tough and close match, but I feel Knox will have just enough to win the game as Trinity still havnt found any form or have any sort of combinations going in both the Forwarda and Backs .
